Redskins Sign LB Chris Draft

The Washington Redskins have signed free agent linebacker Chris Draft, the team announced on Friday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
A sixth-round pick (157th overall) out of Stanford by the Chicago Bears in 1998, Draft (5-11, 232) spent much of his two seasons in the NFL on the practice squads of the Bears ('98) and San Francisco 49ers (1999), appearing in eight games those first two first years.
Claimed off waivers by the Atlanta Falcons in 2000, Drafted started 52 games over five seasons with the Falcons, who terminated his contract in 2005. Draft then spent two seasons with the Carolina Panthers, establishing a career-high in quarterback sacks in 2006 with 5.5, and signed with the St. Louis Rams the following off-season.
Draft was a part-time starter with the Rams, totaling 88 tackles and a quarterback sack before his release last September. Draft signed with the Buffalo Bills midway through the '09 season, amassing 45 tackles with a quarterback sack and an interception in 11 games.
By signing with the Redskins, Draft is reunited with Jim Haslett, who was the Rams' defensive coordinator when Draft signed in St. Louis.
