Kenny Clark needs to tell them No too.
Money is more important than a ring now.
A contract is a contract in good faith.

They generally don't lose any Money, if they Perform. They just create an Annuity and play with expected revenues from a CAP which tends to Increase, externalities like The Pandemic, excluded.

Why in the world did the Packers not try and trade Jones? He just signed with the Vikings for $7 million per year. Did they think nobody would want him. At least trading him would have somewhat given us a chance to send him farther away. What a huge mistake.

Because nobody was going to pay him the 17 million that he was due. Not for a 30 year old RB with injury problems.

Do you mean to tell me that all teams that trade for players don't make player sign a new contract? Obviously, Jones had value since he got snapped up immediately and for more than the Packers offered.

Not only is this a missed opportunity to gain a day 3 draft pick, but a rival has Jones now and we kissed a comp pick goodbye too.

Looks like Rosenhaus blew this one. 7 million is not much more than the Packers reported opening position. I find it unlikely that Jones wins from this outcome on field or off over what could have been in tandem with Jacobs at that price.

Obviously one can’t know the actual exchanges, but this sounds like he ended up with one year as a primary back with a lesser QB as opposed to a weapon on a loaded O that might have seen him back as a piece in 2025. Looks like his choice of agent backfired. I’m guessing there was not much other serious interest if he took that deal so quickly too.

Or he saw it as an opportunity, just like Favre saw years ago, to stick it to the Packers. I get we were not going to make this work. What's the hurry to cut Jones. He would have had more interest than just the Vikings I am sure. Look at his last 5 games of tape.

Thanks for the breakdown, Andy. Thanks for the time put into looking at every Josh Jacobs run last year. With as bad as you determined that Oline run blocking was, QB play, and coaching, along with his injury, it makes sense his play dropped off. The Packers are going to give him an obvious upgrade and hopefully a lot of motivation to pick his game back up as well. A couple of rookie OL from the draft with better run blocking skills would be a plus. As much as I hate to see A. Jones go, this could work out very well for the team in the long run.

Sorry to see Runyan go. I liked him. Jones went to the Vikes and will play five games before missing most of the season with asto toe. LMAF
Bhk, I think we all knew he was gone and Savage too. Havent heard about Campbell. Thought I read they were letting him walk too, maybe I missed it. He wont be missed, another fester in the club house.

Are there any rumors surfacing on FA LBs?. The Jacobs signing was out of the blue, so I would expect the Packers will keep it a secret who they are interested in. I have no idea what they still have in available cap to spend.

Queen just signed with the Steelers which is fine by me. Too expensive. He wasn't one that I was hoping for. He also signed for less than what was projected, $14.5 million for 3 years. Maybe that's good news for GB, meaning our LB cost might be less too. Lets get Devin White for 4 years @ $7 million per year, Or Bobby Wagner for 2 years @ $5 million per.

And maybe Jeremy Chinn to play hybris S/LB for 3 years @ $3 million each. Let's finish FA strong and move our focus to the draft and the UFDA market.

ILB or S on a cheap FA deal. I don't know if our new DC values the hybrid role?

Willie Gay to the Saints-1 year $3 million. How did we miss that?

Josey Jewell to Panthers

My favorites, Devin White and Bobby Wagner are still available
