The Packers are working on restructuring Aaron Rodgers' contract, NFL Network's Mike Silver reported. The terms could indicate how long he is in the team's plans based on what cap commitment a new deal has in future seasons, Silver noted. The reigning MVP is currently on Green Bay's books for three more years, but his dead cap number drops to $17.2 million after the 2021 season

Right, but we're talking about the cornerback position.

As of yesterday, I was under the impression the Packers were not redoing Rodgers contract.

Now today it seems outlets are reporting that restructure talks are in progress. But they are all citing the source as Mike Silver.

I think the assumption that they weren't redoing his deal is due to the fact they gave Rodgers his 6.8 million dollar roster bonus on Saturday. IF...they restructured him before his roster bonus, it would have meant an additional 5 million in cap savings.

We'll wait and see i guess. But i'm guessing the Packers do nothing. But i could be wrong....like that one time back in 2007.

Lol, I knew you had a less confrontational and more humorous side. Pack have to do something because they need cap space for draftees, RFAs, UFAs, PSPs,UFOs, RAF.

If they restructure only for 2021 , he’s gone after that .which is what the Packers want to usher in the Jordan Love era.

I'm really hoping Josh Jackson is our 5th CB at the end of training camp. I hope I'm wrong but I feel like there is a strong possibility JJ loses us a game or 2 if he's playing 16 games in replacement of Kevin King.

Thanks for the dive into CBs. It's good to know there's a decent chance 1 or more strong options might be on the board at 29.

Josh Jackson = King except during the playoffs? Hmmm.

Most CBs who could be #2 CBs have been signed. Agree.

IDK enough of the NFL to forecast CB cap casualties.

What if Zaven Collins drops to #29?
