Green Bay to host 2025 NFL Draft

The event will take place in Lambeau Field and on the Titletown campus.

Earlier this afternoon the NFL announced that the 2025 NFL Draft will take place in Green Bay, inside and around iconic Lambeau Field and Titletown.

"The Draft has become our biggest offseason event hosted in different cities and spectacular locations across the country, and we are excited to work with the Packers and Discover Green Bay to bring the 2025 NFL Draft to Green Bay and iconic Lambeau field," said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. "With the help of numerous local partners on the ground, our prospects and fans will be treated to an incredible week-long experience that shows off the city of Green Bay and the state of Wisconsin."

"This is an incredible day for the Packers, Greater Green Bay and the entire state of Wisconsin as we are excited and honored to be selected to host the 2025 NFL Draft," said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy. "The Packers have a rich and proud history that goes back to the early days of the NFL and are the only community owned team. That connection to our League's heritage combined with the great passion Packers fans will bring will make the Draft a memorable event for those in attendance and NFL fans watching around the world."

While details of the 2025 NFL Draft are still being finalized, the main portion of the event is expected to take place on the Lambeau Field and Titletown campus, with a variety of venues to be utilized within close proximity to the stadium campus.

The most recent 2023 Draft was broadcast over three days and attracted more than 54 million total viewers and more than 312,000 fans in person in Kansas City.

I was surprised too GG. Green Bay gets voted the best city to live in by US News and World Report and then gets the NFL draft coming to town. Not a bad week for Green Bay! Now just pray for good weather in late April of 2025........ Green Bay could get anything from sunny and 70 to a blizzard in that time frame.

It really is remarkable. Never, never, never, never, never thought it would happen. This is a cool thing. Imagine those fans who've never had the opportunity to see the shrine...

A beautiful enclave of GREATNESS.

I have to give props to (cough) Mark Murphy.
Yea, you read that right.

Murphy was interviewed on Kuhns show on ‘The Game’.
Obviously the topic was landing the NFL draft.

He obviously gets props for landing the draft.
To Murphy’s credit, when given the opportunity by Kuhn, Murphy didn’t pat himself on the back too much.

The other take away i got was that there aren’t definite plans in place, namely where they are going to put the stage.
Murphy said that was up to the NFL.

This is great for Green Bay, who i believe will be busting at the seams accommodating and entertaining so many people.

It will be interesting to see some thoughts and reviews from the participants, and the fans post draft.

If you want to attend, better get on the phone for hotel rooms, if it’s not too late already.
I’d imagine a lot of people doing that as soon as it was announced.

Kudos to the Packers, that was a good get.

I guess that this is good for the economics of the Green Bay/Titletown district and surrounding region, but this is really a great big nothing burger to me as a fan that does not live in or near Green Bay.

Yawn...

I get it, JB. Lived in Arizona for more than a decade.

Having moved back & living in Milwaukee these past 20 years, born & raised here back when Lombardi was winning the first Super Bowls, it’s huge. Especially owning my own business.

I’m sure there are a ton of other business owners between here & Green Bay who feel the same. It’s pretty freaking cool!

Frankly, I never thought Green Bay would get the chance. It’s great news to hear.

Rejoice, Jb! Mankind can travel great distances nowadays! Be it by horseless carriage or the iron horse, Green Bay is only a few days away from you. Pack a sack lunch and c'mon up for the party. They'll be rooms to rent (indoor toilet!) at the boarding house in Kaukauna.

I guess I am just old school.

I do not care about the flash and sizzle of the current draft.

I just want to know who the Packers selected and then settle into the projections on how much those few young men are going to completely change the team. Then 2 or 3 of them get some playing time with minimal impact.

Ho Hum.

I guess i have seen too many of these things come and go.

I recognize the economic benefit to the region, and I am all for that. I just do not care about all the dressing up like idiots and chanting like idiots and seers with bad hair and even worse past records of gauging impact.

I heard they expect 250,000 people to come to Green Bay, effectively more than doubling the city's population. On game day 80,000 fans fill Lambeau, thus three times a game day crowd will be there. That's like having two games for the Green Bay economy.

Cheers!

The major difference is a bunch of fans on game days come from around the area where as this will A TON from outside the area. Bringing in money from outside is better than just moving money around inside the area.

Always a few negative Neds and Nellies around.

The draft has turned into a massive marketing initiative for the NFL and its brand. Lots of revenue and the Packers deserve a piece of it as much...even more, than other teams.

Green Bay has been pulling the wagon for the NFL since 1921...and one of the first teams to pick up the rope and pull. Packers are the only of the original NFL founding teams that has not changed its City location and Name.

Good for the Lambeau Shrine and the city of Green Bay!

Hold a stockholders meeting that same day.
Give away cars. per Raffles. NFL colors!
Free cheese and Beer inside.
Autograph booths set-up.

Great idea! It would be nice if they did an "alumni weekend" for the GBP HOFers and any other current and former players who want to come. Maybe with a welcome ceremony for the new guys just drafted. This would also be a great time to hold the GBP HOF Induction Ceremony for that year.

And to introduce Murphy's replacement (a boy can dream, right?)

Does anyone from here want to meet me there? Hopefully we’ll get a chance to meet Nagler and Corey in person. That would be a nice lifetime experience for me. I’m wondering if they allow hotel reservations 2 yrs in advance?

As much as I bust Mark Murphy's balls for sticking his nose where IMO it doesn't belong, the Draft in Green Bay Wisconsin DOESN'T happen without Murphy.

The man was huge in building The Titletown District and is a huge reason why Green Bay is in a position to even host it in the first place.

Congrats to the Green Bay Packers organization, Mark Murphy, and ALL the business owners and people of Wisconsin!

Green Bay has been an “NFL city” for a 100 plus years. They deserve this. It is laughable the “concerns” about logistics. They will plan for it like everything else. It’s Nonsense. Just like the people whining when a cold weather sport actually plays a SB in a cold weather city. Sorry to “ruin” your vacation plans. No Green Bay is not Las Vegas. So what? This is a football draft. Deal with it. The city and people who are a huge part of why the NFL is the NFL get their event.

Lphill the NFL assigns a commission to answer those very questions. Green Bay was looked at several times over the last 10 years, and this includes proposals by the organization to the NFL and how exactly they plan to handle the capacity.

The fact that we were chosen to host the event is confirmation that the City of Green Bay and the Green Bay Packers proved to the NFL that we can handle the logistics of having the draft here.

In other words: it must be doable....

Prior to this announcement, I've not given 2 hoots about attending the draft.
Now I want a reservation to Corey's garage.
I'll be the chubby white guy in the BJRaji jersey or Donald Driver jersey if it still fits!
The Ray Nitschke and Bart Starr jerseys of my youth are long gone unfortunately.
With family in the area, I'll likely attend a few days predraft then head home for the picks.
As stated earlier, it would be great to rub elbows with all at CHTV that I feverishly agree and disagree with about all things GBPkrs!
Well done MM.

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel had a story on celebrities that should be part of the Draft in Green Bay. There are a few that I say no way to.

Harry Styles - Born in England became a Packers fan. Who cares.

Simone Biles - No way. She is a Packers fan because her husband is a player. Plus how do we know if he will still be a Packer during the draft.

Lil Wayne do we really need someone like him representing GB or the Packers.

I am on the fence about Joan Jett. At least she has been a fan since 1966 which is before I became a fan. She is older than me.

The rest are good. The Packers are owned by shareholders and is a cooperative with GB. We need the ordinary Joe and life long season ticket holders representing the team.
