Every day were hearing of new 49ers players who are out. With several starters already injured now the 49ers are losing their 2nd and 3rd string players who are filling in for the starters. Go look at their WR's who are healthy. One is named Richie James who is questionable and the other is Trent Taylor. WHO????

The 49ers are also down to their 3rd string TE and 3rd and 4th string RB. 5 O-Linemen are out including their LT Williams who's still a very good LT and lastly the QB Jimmy G.

Now...If the Packers can't BURY the 49er Offense tonight I will lose all hope. The Packers winning 28-27 against THAT offense is no great feat and IMO should bring more anxiety to Packers fans than anything else. (No offense David).

So far the NFL is saying game on. Personally I don't give a damn how banged up the 49ers are. I care about the Packers. I want a Packers win and I'd like to see them dominate it since they basically are playing against 3rd and 4th stringers at the skill position.

IF the Packers are REALLY any good this game shouldn't be close...Not even a little. At least if you really feel this team is capable of a SB run.

Going to be interesting to see the Packers play with no true running back who is trusted in pass protection or the aerial game. Ervin isn’t a true RB. D Williams has had poor hands and route and catching issues. That is going to make a huge dent in how this offense has functioned as a whole. Is this a game we see Lovett asked to do more? Can we get any run game going? Will we be confident enough to try? How will we replace the RBs in our passing schemes?

My total disdain for night games leaves me extremely disappointed that the NFL is going ahead with this game regardless of the COVID situation affecting both teams.
Gotta be another NFL money grubbing move.

Welcome to the 2020 NFL preseason.

There only a couple of things that I want to see from this ill-advised game:

* Can Matt LaFleur coach against the better coaches/teams in this league?
* Can our defense show some grit - particularly against the SF O-line?
* Will Aaron Rodgers lead our offense to 4 quarters of solid play?

If our season is going to rest on a Aaron Rodgers led team - then he needs to lead the charge - even against the better defenses.

I don't expect Bak, Jones, and King back ( so much for minor injuries). We should win this game without them, and get players ready for second half of season. They still have a tough D ,but Rogers will be completing passes all over the yard as long as the line holds up. Niners still have some solid RBs , but solid will not due even against our poor run D.

Looks like the Covid-19 was more a set of false-postives on the testing front for the Packers this week. Still I agree with Nagler on this one. This is a bad look for a league that tells everyone they care about player safety. It would have been better if the league followed the Packers lead in dealing with the PR aspects of Covid-19. But the NFL under Goodell, has been so clumsy in every major issue the league faces, it's a miracle that the season has gotten as far as it has under him. Football wise the Packers better be ready to play. After the indifferent performance they put up last Sunday, there is very little room for error. Frankly, if this team comes out flat, I'll be right there calling for the MLF to get the axe. 49ers are a wreck and are down to third stringers and practice squad in their starting line up. (I see the God of Injury has decided to winter this year on the left coast) That said, this is the NFL, so the Packers better be ready. No Excuses.

First off this game should have been rescheduled to Sunday or Monday night. Both teams are being placed at risk for increased COVID-19 outbreaks which could put upcoming games at risk.

Secondly, it’s difficult to see how the Packers will function without their RBs. I can’t see Ervin being used to run inside. As for Williams who knows? It’s basically Rodgers to Adams again with some passes to TEs sprinkled in.

As for the defense will they even show up this week or will they be a bunch of empty uniforms again as they were against the Vikings.

Will the Packers kill themselves with penalties again?

This game will tell us something about MLF, Pettine and the coaching staff depending on how the Packers come out to play. If they play with a sense of urgency fine, if not, we have problems.

Rodgers can be the leader but he can’t play alone. I’m hoping that Rodgers will find a way to win what is likely to be an ugly game. Pack 24 - 16. Go Pack Go!

SF is decimated, the Packers are not.

The performance of the GB defense will not be removed from under the microscope regardless of a win in grand fashion. They're playing a team missing so many starters etc, they could form their own milk carton business for the missing., it could be deemed criminal to call it an NFL game. Anything less than a total dominance here by GB, the SB Trophy they want to hold will become so far away from any level of reality, they shouldn't be allowed to see it in the hands of the actual winner.

Another motivation for a GB win is to keep the back-to-back losses boast by MLF off the resume a bit longer, an oft-mentioned stat here in CheeseheadTV land.

Let me repeat my opening line.

SF is decimated, the Packers are not.

Though a loss to SF under these conditions will have many screaming that GB is without more valuable players than SF, which will be hilarious since SF certainly has a much larger percentage of valuable players than GB has had in, years.

Packers not decimated? What about Jones, Lazard’s, kirksey, king, Taylor, Greene, Dillon, deguara, Williams, Redmond, Martin and others like Bak who are questionable for the game. Hardly full strength.
