Steelers 3rd Round WR Emmanuel Sanders Agrees to Terms

Pittsburgh Steelers third-round wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders announced on his Twitter page that he had agreed to terms on a three-year contract.

"It's official!!!!!!!! Ya boy is a Pittsburgh Steeler!!! Signed-seeled the re deal. Can't wait to earn every cent plus more!!!!", Sanders tweeted.

Sanders later added that he received a three-year contract, which is standard operating procedure for a Steelers' third-round pick.

The 5-11, 186-pound Sanders finished his college career as SMU's all-time leading receiver, totaling 239 receptions for 3,186 yards and 25 touchdowns. Sanders earned honorable mention all-Conference USA honors in 2007, was second-team All-CUSA as a junior in 2008, and last season earned first-team All-Conference USA after catching 98 receptions for 1,339 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Sanders ran a 4.4-40 at the 2010 Combine, and is at his best working out of the slot. His quickness and agility make him a potential return specialist for the Steelers.

Sanders, who the Steelers chose with the 82nd overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, is the third of the team's 10 draft picks to agree to a contract, joining fourth-round linebacker Thaddeus Gibson and seventh-round defensive lineman Doug Worthington, who signed last week.
