Seahawks Sign WR Mike Williams to 3-Year Extension

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Mike Williams has confirmed that he has signed a three-year contract extension.

Financial terms of the extension, which was first reported by Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com, were not disclosed.

A former first-round pick (10th overall) out of USC by the Detroit Lions in 2005, Williams caught 44 passes for 439 yards and two touchdowns in 30 games with the Lions, Tennessee Titans, and Oakland Raiders before spending 2008 and 2009 out of football.

Signed to a one-year deal at the league minimum by the Seahawks last off-season, Williams earned a starting job during training camp and led the team with 65 receptions for 751 yards during the regular season. Williams added two touchdowns this season, including the only touchdown during the team's 16-6 NFC West-clinching win over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday night.

Williams turns 27 on Tuesday.
