The New Orleans Saints announced that they have re-signed veteran fullback Jason McKie.

Fullback Marcus Mailei was "Waived/Injured".

After seven seasons with the Chicago Bears, McKie was released in March. Signed to a one-year deal by the Saints in May, his contract was terminated on July 29.

McKie entered the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles, who signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Temple. McKie split his rookie season between the Eagles and Dallas Cowboys practice squads, appearing in one game for Dallas in 2002.

Claimed off waivers by the Bears in 2003, McKie appeared in 87 games between 2003 and 2009, running for 84 yards and 3 touchdowns, with 68 receptions for 364 yards and another 3 touchdowns as a receiver.
