Rib Injuries for Eagles' Vick, McCoy
By admin
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid announced that quarterback Michael Vick has a rib cartilage injury, while running back LeSean McCoy has a fractured rib.
Reid added that Vick, who was injured in the first quarter while lunging towards the end zone, is day-to-day and week-to-week. Vick's injury is between his second and third rib near his sternum. The Eagles will "see how he feels" before adding another quarterback or making a determination on who starts on Sunday night against the San Francisco 49ers.
McCoy, who leads the Eagles with 273 yards and 4 touchdowns on the ground, was injured during the first half, but played through the injury. McCoy had 28 total touches, including a game-high 12 receptions, for 184 yards during the Eagles' 17-12 loss to the Washington Redskins.
McCoy's prognosis for next week will also be determined later in the week.
