Redskins LB Rocky McIntosh Signs RFA Tender

Washington Redskins restricted free agent linebacker Rocky McIntosh has signed his one-year tender, Larry Weisman of Redskins.com reports.
Second-year offensive tackle Paul Fanaika and first-year kicker Justin Medlock have been waived, leaving the Redskins with one available roster spot.
McIntosh, a second-round pick (35th overall) out of the University of Miami in 2006, was tendered at the "Second Round" level, which carries a $1.759 million dollar base salary for 2010. Had McIntosh not signed his tender today, the Redskins could have reduced the amount of his tender to 110% his 2009 base salary, a reduction that would have cost McIntosh over $1.17 million dollars this season.
After spending most of his rookie season playing on special teams, the 6-2, 238-pound McIntosh entered the Redskins' starting lineup in the final two weeks of the 2006 season, totaling 17 tackles and entering the 2007 season as the Redskins' starting weak-side linebacker.
In 44 games over the last three seasons, McIntosh has totaled 268 tackles, 5 quarterback sacks, 3 interceptions and 7 forced fumbles for a Redskins' defense that has ranked in the Top 10 in each season.
Redskins restricted free agent cornerback Carlos Rogers has yet to sign his one-year tender, which is already 110% his 2009 base salary.
