Raiders HC Tom Cable Pays Off Gambling Debt

Ok, so the headline is a little misleading, but Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable canceled the team's meetings last night and took everyone bowling, Jerry McDonald reports.

Cable was likely paying off a bet he made with All-Pro cornerback and Los Angeles Lakers fan Nnamdi Asomugha before Game 7 of the NBA Finals, which Cable's beloved Boston Celtics lost.

"The bet was my idea but what we wagered was Coach Cable’s idea," Asomugha told Bill Williamson of ESPN.com back in June. "I knew how much he was a die-hard Celtics [fan] and he knows how much I was a die-hard Lakers fan. Once the playoffs started I proposed that if Lakers ended up playing the Celtics during the finals we needed to make it interesting. And he named the bet. The loser takes the entire team out to dinner and bowling during camp. Robert Gallery was our witness."
