PFT: Ganther's BAC Close to Legal Limit

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com reports that Seattle Seahawks running back Quinton Ganther, arrested early Saturday morning in Sacramento for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, registered a BAC of close to the legal limit of .08.

Florio did not know whether or not Ganther was over or below the limit.

However, since it was conveyed to Florio that this was "good news", one would believe that the "close to" to the legal limit would indicate that it was below the limit, without exceeding it.

I am neither a lawyer nor do I have any familiarity with California's drunk driving laws, so I could not say if the duration of time between apprehension and administering of a breathalyzer or blood test is factored into determining whether or not to press charges.
