Patriots K Stephen Gostkowski Signs RFA Tender

New England Patriots restricted free agent kicker Stephen Gostkowsi has signed his one-year tender, my man Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald reports.

A fourth-round pick (118th overall) out of Memphis in 2006, Gostkowski had signed an injury protection waiver that allowed him to participate in the team's off-season workout program. (And presumably "pahtake" in radio promotions.)

Gostkowski is 103-for-121 (85.1%) on field goal attempts during his career, and has steadily improved his depth on kickoffs, posting a career-high 21 touchbacks during the 2009 season. Gostkowski made the Pro Bowl after leading the NFL in scoring during the 2008 season, and was named first-team All-Pro in '08, as well.

New England tendered Gostkowski at the "Second Round" level, which will pay him a $1.759 million dollar base salary in 2010.
