Patriots G Logan Mankins Won't Attend OTAs Without New Contract

Frank Bauer, the agent for New England Patriots Pro Bowl guard Logan Mankins, tells Tom Curran of Comcast SportsNet New England that his client will not attend the voluntary "Organized Team Activity" sessions without receiving a new contract.

Bauer adds that there has been no progress between the two sides towards a long-term contract, which could average $8 million dollars per year.

No word on whether or not Mankins will need a new contract to attend the Patriots' mandatory mini-camp, which runs from June 14-17. On June 15, NFL teams can reduce the amounts of unsigned restricted free agent tenders to 110% the player's salary from 2009. If the Patriots reduce Mankins' tender, it would cost him $1.728 million dollars this season.
