Panthers Reach Deal With Chudzinski

The Carolina Panthers have agreed to a deal with Rob Chudzinski to be their next offensive coordinator, Darin Gantt of The Charlotte Observer.

Chudzinski coached tight ends on the same San Diego Chargers' coaching staff as new Panthers head coach Ron Rivera, and was a candidate for the Miami Dolphins' offensive coordinator job.

Prior to the Chargers, Chudzinski worked as the offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns.

Though no official announcement has been made by the Panthers, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that the Panthers have tabbed Sean McDermott to coordinate the defense.

The Panthers did announce that Brian Murphy has been hired to coordinate the team's special teams units, while defensive assistant coaches Ron Meeks and Sam Mills have been retained.

Meeks will coach the team's secondary, while Mills will be a defensive quality control/assistant defensive line coach.
