According to a league source, the Carolina Panthers have claimed offensive tackle Kirk Barton off waivers.

The well-traveled Barton was waived by the Denver Broncos on Monday.

Barton appeared in one game for the Chicago Bears, who selected him in the seventh-round of the 2008 NFL Draft out of Ohio State. Barton has also had stints with the Miami Dolphins, San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals, and Detroit Lions.

Panthers starting tackles Jordan Gross (ankle) and Jeff Otah (knee, PUP) are banged up. Offensive lineman Jason Capizzi has been waived.
