Packers Sign 1st Round OT Bryan Bulaga

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Green Bay Packers have signed first-round offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga to a five-year contract.

Schefter adds that Bulaga's deal is worth $14.75 million dollars, and includes $8.76 million in guarantees.

Bulaga started 28 of his 30 games at the University of Iowa, including 25 at left tackle. The 6-5, 314-pounder was a second-team All-Big Ten selection as a sophomore, before earning first-team honors in 2009, where he was also named the Big Ten's Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Bulaga was a second-team All-American in 2009, as well.

Big and athletic, Bulaga is expected to begin his NFL career behind Green Bay's veteran tackles Chad Clifton and Mark Tauscher. Bulaga is the the long-term replacement for Clifton at left tackle, though, and considering the injury histories of Clifton and Tauscher, it's likely only a matter of time before Bulaga joins the starting lineup.
