Lions S Louis Delmas Activated Off PUP

Tom Kowalski of MLive.com reports that Detroit Lions safety Louis Delmas has been activated off the physically unable to perform list and is practicing this morning.

Delmas injured his groin during the off-season workouts, and there were reports that some within the Lions organization felt Delmas would require season-ending surgery. Fortunately for the Lions, that is not the case, as Delmas is expected to be the leader in a secondary that will start two new faces (Chris Houston, Jonathan Wade, Dre Bly, or Amari Spievey) at cornerback this season.

The 33rd overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, the former Western Michigan standout finished second on the Lions in tackles (94) and passes defensed (8), and tied for the team lead with a pair of interceptions as a rookie.
