Lions Avoid Blackout

The Detroit Lions home-opener against the Philadelphia Eagles will be shown live in the Detroit area on Sunday, reports John Niyo of the Detroit News.

On Thursday, Detroit received a 24-hour extension to avoid having the game blacked out locally.

Less than 3,000 tickets remained at that point, but the team has sold enough of them to have the game, which will feature Micheal Vick and Shaun Hill as the starting quarterbacks, to be shown locally.
