Leroy Hill Returns to the Seahawks

Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reports that Seattle Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill has returned to the team and will participate in the remainder of the team's "Organized Team Activity" sessions and mini-camp.

Hill had been told to stay away from the facility while awaiting trial for a domestic violence charge. Hill appeared in Issaquah Municipal Court on Friday morning, where a readiness hearing was scheduled for July 23, with Hill's trial expected to begin the following week.

"We are getting closer to understanding what the situation is," Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said on Friday, according to Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times. "We will know more about that pretty soon."

Hill is expected to receive a one-game suspension for a February 2009 marijuana possession arrest in Georgia, which was resolved this off-season. Hill faces additional league discipline over his domestic violence arrest, which could void his base salary guarantee in his contract, allowing the Seahawks to release the sixth-year linebacker from Clemson.

Hill has started 61 of his 67 games for the Seahawks, totaling 375 tackles and 14.5 quarterback sacks. Despite his marijuana arrest, the Seahawks placed the franchise tag on Hill that month, later signing him to a six-year, $36 million dollar contract extension.
