Jaguars Trade S Anthony Smith to the Packers

The Jacksonville Jaguars have traded safety Anthony Smith the Green Bay Packers, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports.

Trade compensation is not yet known. Smith was scheduled to start for the Jaguars on Monday night.

A third-round pick (83rd overall) out of Syracuse by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2006, Smith (6-0, 200) has 158 tackles and 7 interceptions in 59 career games with the Steelers (2006-08), St. Louis Rams (2009), and Jaguars (2009-10).

Smith has 15 tackles and an interception, which he returned 47 yards, in three starts this season.

Smith had signed a two-year deal with the Packers in 2009, but was waived at the end of training camp and claimed by the Rams.
