Jaguars 1st Round DT Tyson Alualu Signing Contract Today
By admin
Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Tyson Alualu has flown into Jacksonville from his home in Hawaii, and will sign his five-year, $28 million contract, which includes $17.5 million in guarantees.
Alualu will likely make his training camp practice debut today, and it shouldn't be too long before the 6-3, 295-pound defensive tackle is working next to Terrance Knighton with the first-team defense.
Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union reports that defensive end Chris Harrington will be waived to make room for Alualu on the 80-man roster.
Harrington (6-4, 264) was a sixth-round pick (185th overall) out of Texas A&M by the Arizona Cardinals in 2008, and has spent much of the past two seasons on the Cardinals' practice squad before being poached by other NFL teams (Cincinnati in 2008, Jacksonville in 2009) who view him as a potential pass-rushing end in a 4-3 system.
Would not be surprised if Arizona put in a waiver claim on Harrington.
