Edwin Mulitalo Heads to the Arena League

Former NFL guard Edwin Mulitalo has signed with the Utah Blaze of the Arena Football League.

The 35-year old Mulitalo, who was most recently with the Detroit Lions in 2008, will play on the offensive and defensive lines.

A fourth-round pick (129th overall) out of the University of Arizona by the Baltimore Ravens in 1999, Mulitalo stepped into the starting lineup midway through his rookie season, and would remain there until a triceps injury ended his 2006 season after just four games. Released by the Ravens the following off-season, Mulitalo signed a three-year, $6 million dollar contract with the Lions, where he started 26 games over the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

Mulitalo (6-4, 360) earned a Super Bowl ring with the Ravens in 2000, and is slated to play on the Blaze's offensive and defensive lines.
