Dolphins Rookie LB A.J. Edds May Have Torn ACL

Miami Dolphins fourth-round linebacker A.J. Edds believes he tore an ACL during last night's practice, Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald reports.

If Edds has torn an ACL, it would be another big blow to the interior of the Dolphins' defense, which has lost Phillip Merling for the season to an Achilles' injury, and lost nose tackle Jason Ferguson to retirement.

The 6-4, 246-pound Edds intercepted 7 passes and defended 12 others during his college career at Iowa, and was expected to play a role in Miami's nickel defense as a rookie.
