Dolphins LS John Denney Added to AFC Pro Bowl Roster

Miami Dolphins long-snapper John Denney has been added to the AFC's Pro Bowl roster, the team announced on Thursday.

Denney is the "43rd player" on the squad, which is selected by the coaches.

"It’s an honor to be named to the AFC Pro Bowl team and it always feels nice to be recognized by people attached to the game," Denney said in a statement released by the team. "These opportunities are not possible without a great supporting staff like Dan (kicker Dan Carpenter), Brandon (punter Brandon Fields), Rizz (Special Teams Coach Darren Rizzi), and Bono (former Special Teams Coordinator John Bonamego), along with everyone else on the special teams.

"You don’t expect a long snapper to be recognized and it’s a testament to all the hard work they all put in over the course of my Dolphin career. I’m looking forward to representing the team and joining Cam (Wake) in Hawaii."

Denney has handled the Dolphins' snapping duties for the last six seasons, and signed a four-year, $4 million contract extension last May.
