Bucs LB Barrett Ruud Disappointed With Contract

Tampa Bay Buccaneers restricted free agent middle linebacker Barrett Ruud saw the team's front office dish out nearly $110 million in long-term contracts, and today expressed disappointment that extending his contract isn't a priority.

"Obviously, I'm very disappointed," Ruud said, according to Stephen Holder of the St. Petersburg Times. "I'm not real happy about it. I'm very happy for Donald. Very happy for Gerald. Very happy for all the guys who signed the last couple of years, but definitely it's pretty frustrating on my end."

Holder adds that Ruud's agents suggested he leave camp, but the sixth-year linebacker opted against that approach.

"As of now," he said earlier today, "I’m just here working. Kind of doing what I’ve always done."
