Buccaneers WR Mike Williams Arrested for DUI

Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie wide receiver Mike Williams was arrested on a DUI charge in Hillsborough County, Florida, the St. Petersburg Times reports.

According to the report, Williams was observed weaving between lanes and was placed under arrest at 2:48am. Williams' blood-alcohol levels were .061 and .065, below the legal limit of .08, and a urine test was administered to determine if Williams was impaired by another substance.

Williams posted $500 bail and was released from jail earlier this morning. His status for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers is expected to be clarified by head coach Raheem Morris later on Friday.

The 6-2, 221-pound wide receiver from Syracuse possessed first-round talent, but slid to the fourth-round of the 2010 NFL Draft due to off-field concerns. Williams was suspended in 2008 after allegations of academic cheating, and quit the team midway through last season.

Williams has emerged as a legitimate play-maker and quarterback Josh Freeman's preferred target in the passing game, leading the Buccaneers with 76 targets. Williams leads the Buccaneers with 40 receptions, 627 yards, and 5 touchdowns.
