Bengals HC Marvin Lewis Dines With Childress

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis had dinner on Thursday night with Brad Childress, WCPO.com reports.

Under normal circumstances, Lewis' dining with Childress, a former embattled head coach, wouldn't be a big deal. Both men were part of the USO/NFL Tour in the summer of 2010, and it's possible that this may be nothing more than two friends sharing a meal. Then again, earlier on Thursday, Lewis didn't dismiss the possibility of changes to his coaching staff.

"I think we still have a chance for change," Lewis said of his coaching staff on Thursday. "I still think we have an opportunity to revise things.

"They're clamoring for heads and I understand that," Lewis said of the anger fans particularly have for offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski. "I'm not ready to give them heads and we'll see what happens."

If Lewis is considering replacing Bratkowski with Childress--who despite being owed $3 million from the Minnesota Vikings, interviewed for the Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator job last week--Lewis would be wise to act quickly.

The Bengals are coaching the North squad at the next week's Senior Bowl, and it would make sense to have his coaching staff squared away before the team begins evaluating talent in Mobile.
