The San Francisco 49ers plan to place kicker Joe Nedney on injured reserve on Monday, Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com reports.

Nedney sprained the knee on his non-kicking leg in Week 10, and has been ruled "Out" for today's game against the Green Bay Packers.

Shane Andrus handled the kicking duties in weeks 11 and 12, but was waived last Monday and replaced with veteran kicker Jeff Reed.

Prior to signing with the 49ers, Reed, who has connected on 204 of his 249 field goal attempts (81.9%) during his career, was told that he'd be on the active roster for the remainder of the season.
