49ers Sign LB Brandon Long

The San Francisco 49ers announced that they have signed linebacker Brandon Long to a two-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Long had originally agreed to terms with the 49ers last April after not being selected in the 2009 NFL Draft, but he failed his physical due to a foot injury.

The 6-4, 250-pound Long played defensive end at Michigan State, and the part-time starter totaled 66 tackles and 7.5 quarterback sacks during his career with the Spartans.

Long was participating in the 49ers' mini-camp, which got underway today, on a tryout basis.
