DDS is obviously my favorite pick in this draft and I honestly believe he has the skills to start right away. Partly because of his talent, but sadly, mainly because we have a very unproductive, albeit young Edge rusher group behind Parsons. Crazy when you think Parsons is the oldest @ 26.

I would have picked DDS @ #84, but this draft really fell the Packers way this year and we were due. DDS comes in with a ton of potential, kind of like Quay Walker, but he seems to have a better mental grasp of playing the position. People can try to pick apart weaker areas in his game but all players have warts, from 1st round picks to the 7th.

I hope the connection between Parsons & DDS is a strong as it already seems because any coaching or mentoring from Parsons will just speed the process and benefit the Packers. And we need him to be very good ASAP because after 3 years, I don't have much faith LVN makes the jump we have been waiting for. I won't bitch much but we never should have given him the 5th year bonus. I wonder if they even tried to sign him to a multi-year contract for less. At this point it's like throwing good money after bad. Maybe it's hard for Gutey to admit but the reality is that LVN might just be an average player, nothing special. I guess we will find out this year.
