Good. The defense for keeping the game close, getting a big 4th down stop, and a big pick. I thought they played good enough to win this game.
Bad. The offense was inconsistent to bad for large parts of this game. The defense gave them 2 short fields that they were able to capitalize with TDs. Not many sustained drives to keep the defense off the field. Lost time of possession 36 to 24, ouch.
Ugly. The refs. I hate to bring them up, but they had so many non calls and possibly had a game changing call against the Packers. Very poor officiating.

The good: Josh Jacobs, MCManus kicking looks like we may have a kicker again. Kraft what a stud loves to play, his enthusiasum seems to blend well with team.
The Bad: Think they got man handled Lions reflection of coach and Packers theirs.
Ugly: Tackling is still a concern, bad angles over running ball carriers. And say it a gain JA send him packing after season, mid season sabbatical is getting old. Big mouth small return. Need football tough players not sideline yappers.

I'm not a fan who ever really puts blame on the officials but yeah, they missed a couple few big ones that should have gone against the Lions. We all seen the same plays and know which ones. The equal application thing wasn't quite as equal.

Good: Effective but underutilized Josh Jacobs
Bad: ESPN stat showing Goff 30 of 34 pass attempts when not under duress
Ugly: Surprise. Middle of the field pass defense. Again.

Good...If the Packers play the Lions again I think they'll (The Packers) win. It's HARD to beat the same team 3 years in a row.
The Bad...Where was the screen game? Where was the short passing game, the take what they give you game? After the last few weeks you'd think MLF had FINALLY started to finally get that.
The Ugly...8 First round picks on the defense and we still get THAT? Gute has a LOT of work to do this offseason.
The REALLY UGLY...The Packers O-Line was playing a bunch of backups yet in the first half it looked like they were playing the 85 Bears. Love was getting pressure almost immediately, O-Linemen getting their asses handed to them on too many plays.

Nick, did you notice how the announcers all harped about how hurt the Lions were and only mentioned in passing the secondary of the Packers was banged up?
The Packers might beat them if they play again but not if the O-line goes into the game unprepared to block even backups for half a game or more. What was that all about?
How about seeing the replay of one of the first Lions scores showing backs and ends blowing the LBs and safeties back into the endzone? I remember thinking "they didn't look very tough".

Agree with Nick P.—a few screens would have been nice…and a few check downs by Love to move the chains to keep the defense on the sidelines.
The game changing calls by the officiating is infuriating—get the hell out of the way.
…And let’s put Herb$hit…and Tom Brady, together on a raft in the open sea, with a block of government cheese and repeated replays of their announcing skills.
Go Packers!!!

I was thinking where were the TEs and Reed? Then they finally tossed a couple Kraft's way. They all had to stay in and help the poor overworked O-line.

Agree about Herbstreet and Brady.
Replace Herbstreet with Olson on TNF!

Good - They came back and almost won. General effort by players. It's not them, it's the coaching. See bad. We almost beat a VERY solid team. Team did a lot of good things.
Bad - team prep - AGAIN. I have been critical of MLF for a long time and just when it seems that he might redeeming himself, he has the team do this. This wasn't a total disaster like he's done before but this was an early NFC Championship game. No serious offensive adjustments like some screens or quick passes slow down the rush. And Hafley was bringing pressure sometimes but with his corners playing so far back, we got carved up. The bend but don't break doesn't work against solid teams and I'm sick of seeing it every week. It doesn't take genius to see this. His pressure was getting there and Goff would not have had time to go very deep so why not cover more closely and have the corners inside the the receivers.
So yes, they kept us in the game and we even went ahead. But we didn't finish.
Ugly - I hope that's the last time we see Watson try to leap a player. Unless it's a win/lose situation, it's not worth the yards and risk of injury.

im accustomed to MLF's style of coaching, he's a very mediocre head coach...would be better served as an OC...

The Good- D kept us in the game early on when the offense was - not sure what was up with that. Solid kicking game and ST's, proved we can play with the Lions- they are not far & away the better team, showed resilentcy by making a come back.
The Bad- O line, not a good or acceptable performance against backups, c'mon men. Officiating as already mentioned.
The Ugly- Of course, the start of the game. I thought I was seeing 12 out there playing hero ball. I didn't even recognize that offense. Like MLF just abandoned what got us on the winning streak. Low percentage calls, no screens, check downs, lack of creativity as others have mentioned. Jacobs was like an after thought. This was a game to play the: "move the chains and control the clock game", keep Goff on the sideline. Like we opened up in a panic mode. Ugly!

Good - There was no "give up" after going down 10 and the defense battled with what they had after the injuries thinned out the secondary.
Bad - Bad O-line play. They never seemed to get into sync against the Detroit D. The play calling didn't help at the beginning of the game.
Ugly - I feel like the early 90's are calling with Detroit taking the place of Dallas as the "Big D." Here's hoping the Packers get over that hump the next time they play Detroit.

Why would any team give up after going down 10 points when NFL teams regularly erase much larger leads?

never mind excuses , the Packers offense early on did not take what the defense offered that's on MLF, on the other side Goff exploited the Packers middle of the field coverage which is what the future opponents will do as well.

most opponents already do exploit the packer defense in the middle...easy stuff...and abysmal defense against the screen play time after time...but the Pack cant run a successful screen at all

The Bad --- Christian Watson's Bad drop early in the game
The Good --- Christian Watson atoning for the drop by catching everything else
The Ugly --- The feeling you get when you KNOW that settling for a FG on last drive will DOOM you to losing on last-second FG.
But I'm over it. We got 1 1/2 weeks to get ready for the Sea-Turkies, and continue playoff drive.
GPG!

Good - played well despite missing several key players (which you wouldn’t know by watching the broadcast cos all they talked about was Detroit’s being short-handed.)
honorable mention: Jordan’s otherworldly throws.
Bad - offensive game plan: very little play-action, no screen game to soften up the lions pass rush (psst, we have a great slot receiver who got ZERO touches. SCHEME THAT GUY SOME PLAYS).
Honorable mention, O-Line.
Ugly - refs, mostly for taking the game-winning TD away for incidental contact between Watson and a DB, but also Jordan’s getting smacked in the head right in front of them and making no call.
Honorable mention: our pass rush still pretty weak.

Well,I thought it was an entertaining game and a frustrating loss. Not sure what MLF was trying to do in the first half tho…. Just some random thoughts here. Jacob’s is a beast and I’m glad he’s in green and gold. However, it seems to me that the O needs the change of pace shifty RB like Aaron Jones. I presume that was supposed to be Lloyd who has been a medical no show all season. IMHO the front office totally failed on hoping that Stokes would return to his rookie form. Seems to me that some injuries just take the life out of a player and Stokes is Exhibit A. Expecting Alexander to be a consistent on field contributor is failure 2 and Exhibit B. Not drafting a CB is failure 3. Maybe time to draft stud position football players for the D line rather than RAS studs…. The good news is that the team will actually have cap space to spend in the offseason although the bill is coming due soon on the WR corps. Last thought, Kraft is a stud. Let’s get him the damn ball more. He can single handedly break the D’s will. Oops, one more…super turd award to the officiating crew. Get out of the way in deciding games. It was clear midway through the third quarter that the last team with the ball was going to win. Stop tipping the scales
