Packers Will Play Rams On Thanksgiving Eve

It's just the second time in franchise history the Packers will play on a Wednesday.

The NFL has announced Green Bay will face the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium on Wednesday, Nov. 25th, the night before Thanksgiving. The marquee holiday matchup will be streaming on Netflix.

It’s another measuring-stick moment for Matt LaFleur’s squad, facing a proven NFC contender in primetime with the entire football world watching. Holiday games carry a different kind of pressure, and Green Bay will need to be sharp in every phase against a talented Rams team in a hostile environment. For a Packers team with legitimate postseason ambitions, this isn’t just a spectacle, it’s an opportunity to make a statement on one of the NFL’s biggest regular season stages.

It's just the second time in franchise history the Packers will play on a Wednesday. The other was on Sept. 28, 1938, against the Chicago Cardinals in Buffalo.

Road game vs Rams on Thanksgiving Eve? The league is not doing us any favors.

Has there ever been a Wednesday night game?

I'd suspect they'll either be coming off a Thursday night game or the bye week. We'll see tomorrow.

So, the interwebz says the Packers played the Chicago Cards in Buffalo as a special, neutral-site night game designed to boost attendance and league popularity. The matchup was promoted by local interests, with the Cardinals acting as the home team. The Packers won the game.

That said, no I will not be coughing up a red-ass dime to watch exclusive streaming games this season. Fuck these greedy fucks.

I hope the Packers are still in serious contention at this time--otherwise I'm passing. I don't mind Amazon because they're useful for other things, but Wednesday sucks and so does Netflix (no trial, $8.99/month) ...Maybe Congress can do something useful for once and put an end to this nonsense; they've got the power--fans are just getting abused.

Fans have the power. They've always had it. They just don't use it.

Wait a minute, it's a MARQUEE HOLIDAY MATCHUP?!?!?! Well then, get outta my way and let me get my credit card! Like always with this garbage situation, I'll be doing something else, maybe check the score later. The NFL and Netflix can go stream themselves.
