Packers Week 17 Snap Counts Versus Chicago

Once again, let's take a look at the snap counts.  The Packers signed OG Ben Braden to the 53-man roster and elevated DT Brian Price from the practice squad.  The Packers earlier in the week signed Snacks Harrison to the 53-man roster and waived Anthony Rush, but later signed Price to the practice squad.

Inactive Players Love, Garvin, Jackson, Stepaniak, Sternberger, and Keke.
Active - DNP Boyle

The Packers removed Jace Sternberger from the Friday injury report but he was inactive.  Josh Jackson and Garvin have been healthy scratches for a few weeks in a row.  Keke was out with a concussion.

The Packers' five starting offensive linemen played every snap, so there are no clues as to how the team would deal with an injury.  The Packers ran 9 times in the first half for 26 yards, a 2.89 yard average.  Aaron Jones carried 6 times for 18 yards with a long run of 10 yards.  Williams ran twice for 5 yards and Dillon once for 3 yards, the only rushing attempt he received for the game.  Rodgers and Valdes-Scantling each added a rush for a combined 8 yards.  A number of the runs did not go where the play designed them to go.  The Bears registered 3 QB hits but no sacks on Aaron Rodgers' 10 passing attempts, a 30% rate.  Still, Rodgers had good time on the majority of his passing attempts.

Aaron Rodgers completed 10 passes on 10 attempts for 155 yards and 3 TDs, good for a 158.3 passer rating in the first half.  Valdes-Scantling caught 2 passes on 2 targets for 87 yards and a touchdown.  Davante Adams and Aaron Jones each added 2 receptions on 2 targets for 18 yards, and Tonyan caught a 3-yard touchdown pass.

The Packers scored touchdowns on their first three possessions.  The Packers technically had a fourth possession, but it consisted entirely of the kickoff, and the Packers did not have any time of possession or plays on the fourth possession.  The Bears ran 36 plays in the first half and possessed the ball for 17:05 minutes.  The Packers ran 23 plays and had the ball for 12:55 minutes.

The Bears added three more QB hits and a sack by Khalil Mack in the second half.  Rodgers completed 9 of 14 passes for 85 yards and one touchdown to finish with a 147.9 passer rating.  Valdes-Scantling dropped his only target in the second half, a long bomb.  Davante Adams caught 4 passes on 4 targets for 28 yards and a touchdown, all in the fourth quarter.  Aaron Jones added 2 receptions on 3 targets for 25 yards and carried the ball 5 times for 24 yards.

The Bears' TOP was 35:29 for the game.  The Packers held the ball for 24:31, almost an eleven minute differential.  The Bears ran 75 plays whereas the Packers had 46 plays.  The Packers played 2.59 wide receivers, 1.07 running backs, and 1.35 tight ends per play.  Those are normal numbers for the last 6 games or so.

The Packers held the Bears' running backs to just 86 yards on 27 attempts, a 3.19 yard average.  Trubisky added 22 rushing yards on 4 attempts, which increased the Bears rushing average for the game to 3.5 yards per attempt.  Trubisky passed 42 times and completed 33 for 252 yards, just a 6.0 yard per attempt average, with no touchdowns and one interception (by Amos).  Trubisky finished with an 81.7 passer rating.  Jaire Alexander forced Cole Kmet to fumble, which was recovered by Rashan Gary at the Chicago 22-yard line in the first half.  The Packers scored a touchdown six plays later.

Gary had a strong game with 5 tackles (3 solo), one tackle for loss and the fumble recovery in 30 snaps.  Alexander was dominant, allowing just 7 receiving yards on three targets and stopping Graham from getting into the endzone on the final play of the game despite the size difference.  Chandon Sullivan was physical and seemed to play well.  Kevin King whiffed on a tackle but had 2 pass break-ups and 10 tackles (7 solo).  Amos continued his fine play and Savage had 10 tackles, although he did allow a 53-yard reception to Darnell Mooney.  Barnes looked physical and had 14 tackles (8 solo) and a tackle for loss.  Everyone seemed to play in a very physical style.  Kirksey had the only sack, with Clark and Preston Smith each adding one quarterback hit.

The Packers played 2.06 true defensive linemen per play, a much lower number than last week but a little more than their season average.  Snacks Harrison played 12 snaps but he had no statistics.  The Packers played 1.41 ILBs, 2.19 OLBs, and 5.32 DBs on average per play.  None of those numbers are unusual over the course of the entire season.

Name Snaps % ST
Crosby     11 - 48%
Bradley     7 - 30%
Scott     7 - 30%

J.K. Scott punted twice for a 43.5-yard average and net since there were no returns.  Scott landed one punt inside the twenty yard-line.  Austin returned one punt for 7 yards but fumbled, causing a turnover.  Crosby had 3 touchbacks, kicked one out of bounds, and Patterson returned two kickoffs for a 26.5 yard average with a long of 33.  Green Bay returned four of five kickoffs for a 19.8 yard average with a long of 23.

The story of the snap counts is probably a certain reduction of snaps to players lower down on the bench.  Scott, Black, Hollman and Malik Taylor received a combined one snap.  Some of the regular players are starting to play more special teams snaps.  Note for example that Tonyan, who had been entirely excused from special teams for much of the season, is starting to pick up special teams snaps.

It remains to be seen if "Snacks" Harrison can eat into Lancaster's snaps (or Lowry's for that matter).  Preston Smith continues to play far more snaps than Rashan Gary.  Barnes appears to be the unquestioned starter.  Martin is still limited to a dozen snaps per game.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A little off topic, but there were some weird things going on in the final week of the season.  The Eagles appeared to many to blatantly tank their final game (which had playoff implications) by pulling their starting quarterback in the second half and going for it when a field goal would tie the game.  In addition, Seattle recovered an onside kick up four points with 22 second left.  Instead of taking a kneel, the Seahawks threw a pass to David Moore so he could reach 35 receptions for the season, thereby triggering a $100,000 incentive in his contract.  Emmanuel Sanders needed 11 receptions to trigger a $500,000 incentive in his contract, and he got a lot of targets late in his team's game.  Antonio Brown also received the necessary targets to trigger his $250,000 incentive for catching 45 passes.  Some of these things did not appear to occur organically to some media observers.

As a note, Aaron Rodgers appears to have reached multiple escalators in his contract, perhaps worth $720,000, due to his MVP-worthy season, and several players likely earned money due to their pro bowl honors.

I chose a photo of Preston Smith and Rashan Gary because that is the situation fans disagree with most in terms of snap counts. Preston Smith continues to get (and by a very comfortable margin) the vast majority of snaps at OLB #2 over Gary. I've already put up photos of Barnes. I thought of using a photo of Snacks Harrison, but he did not eat into Lancaster's snaps or Lowry's for that matter. [Yeah, I noticed the bad pun and left it in there.] The only other issue is Martin, who continues to receive about a dozen snaps. At least Kirksey has been playing better in a reduced role. I think otherwise unless Greene returns there aren't many issues in terms of who plays.

I could be wrong but I think Kirkseys playing better has to do with him playing the weakside ILB spot, his natural position in Pettines defense. Because more recently he curiously has started to look more like the player he was in Cleveland.

Yes, a number of posters who I think have proven themselves pretty smart have made the same suggestion.

I've noted that the Packers also seem to limit the type of situation in which they insert Kamal Martin. According to PFR's advanced stats, he has played 177 snaps but has been targeted in the passing game just 5 times, allowing 4 completions (advanced stats do not include the Chicago game since PFR does not update advanced stats until Wednesdays). Kirksey has been target more often per snap, but he has played a lot of Mike and also as the only ILB on the field, so IDK if the comparison holds. Same issue with Barnes: he's played a lot of Mike as well as some Will.

To be fair, I think that it was Pettine who stated that when the move was made to swap Barnes and Kirksey. His comment was that it played to both their strengths as reported.

Surprised they only had 46 plays on offense and scored 35 points. Wow! I never noticed Snacks on the field so must believe you that he had 12 snaps. The touchdown pass to Davante certainly was for a record breaker/tie when running the ball was much more prudent. I like seeing more starters on special teams. I am concerned that special teams may be our Achilles heel.

I double-checked Harrison on the nflgsis database. I saw him in there on a handful of plays, but failed to appreciate that he got 12 snaps.

Davante IIRC had 111 receptions heading into the 4th quarter so he needed just two receptions to pass Sterling Sharpe's record of 112 receptions. GB had two more drives so that seems reasonable. Adams did need a TD reception on the last drive to tie Sterling for most TD receptions in a season. IDK, the Packers did run and targeted other receivers on the first of those two drivers while being up just 5 points.

The TD came being up 12 after the short field due to Amos' INT. Jamaal ran for 6 and ran again for 14 down to the 6 yard line. On 1st and 10 from the 6 yard line, AR hit Adams for the TD. Adams is really good, so I am inclined to think Adams got his receptions naturally, and maybe even the TD pass since GB could have run a few times from the 6 since there was 2:59 minutes left. I am not worried about whether that TD pass occured organically.

From what I had seen of Snacks

—— really good penetration, the line did not get pushed backwards when he was in
—- narrowly missed Montgomery in the backfield for what would have been about a 6 yard loss

Regarding Snacks TGR, I noticed him in on 2 of the many 4th and ones. Both ended up being passes (one successful and the other turned over on downs). Chicago had been making everything they tried up the middle until those two plays. Not sure if he was in for the other short yardage situations, but is it possible he changed the Bears play calling? If so he already was worth the price.

Agreed on organic or not, it most likely goes a long way when teammates help each other cash in on incentives, I know i would be appreciative and feel a stronger bond. Just glad to see it when it was within the flow of the game.

This is why TOP is overly valued. Yes, it helps your defense if you can keep it off the field, but ultimately, points matter. We have an offense that can score points quickly: Adams, Jones, Dillon, Lazard, MSV and Tonyan have all had some long TDs. But it can also keep itself on the field, which is a departure from last year, We had 7 real possessions and we scored TDs on 5 of them. Some were quick, some were longer. But we don't turn it over and we don't settle for FGs and we don't punt very much.

Chicago, on the other hand, has an offense that can stay on the field, but it doesn't score points. If they hold the ball for 55 minutes and score 10 points, and the Packers have two TD drives of 2 1/2 minutes each, it's still a loss for Chicago. TOP CAN BE an advantage, but you've got to score points or it isn't. And yesterday, TOP was not an advantage for the Bears.

For all the lamentations about our special teams, we haven't lost a single game in two years where poor special teams play was a factor. Nonetheless, turning the ball over is bad and for the 1048th time, I would argue that it's better to just fair catch and put Aaron Rodgers on the field than it is to try to return. Statistically, you'll have a long 30+ punt return every couple of years. During that stretch between long returns, you're going to fumble, get penalized for blocks in the back, and get your guys injured. Your average return will be about 7 yards and that juice is not worth the squeeze. Stop the Madness. Get the bottom of the roster OFF the field and put Rodgers-Jones-Adams & Co. on the field.

Good points on ST and the risk vs reward ratio when you have the offense the Packers have. Though just seems defeatist in a way, as you just never know, In the end when in doubt I'm with you.

While I think TOP is a correlatable stat hence has value I think this is a prime example of why stats have a purpose but must be used correctly within context, Just for all the reasons you illustrated about yesterday's game. I would argue this game TOP is a bit of an outlier though.

What I'm most impressed about is how well the D is playing. Over the past 5 game,s they are allowing only 17.2 PPG. That is a championship type of D being played right now.

Preston is playing much better, but I'm puzzled why Gary doesn't get more plays. Regardless, it is great to have 3 very good rushers because it will keep them fresh throughout the game.

Kirksey at the Will is so much better then at Mike. If he continues this higher level of play along with Barnes and Martin, I don't see a weak spot on our D right now. Our run D is shored up and with Snacks it provides us more flexibility on scheme. Hoping Snacks has something left in the tank and makes some big plays for us in the playoffs.

The team I'm most concerned about is Tampa, mainly because of Tom Brady and his clutch playing and he is used to playing in the cold. That said, we are a much better team now then when Tampa beat us. Hoping one of the lower seeds pull off an upset! GPG

Yep, That's why the drafting and FA signing of guys with flexibility in position play is genius. I have no clue how prevalent it is throughout the league but as the saying goes, the NFL is a copycat league and I'm sure many teams will take notice and look to implement when/where possible.

I'm glad you mentioned the defense. I have some End Of Regular Season Facts I wanted to share with the people who have been wearing out their thesaurus looking for different ways to insult the defense.

It finished 13th in scoring defense, with 369 points. If you subtracted the 24 points Minnesota scored in garbage time in the 4th quarter of the opener, we would have rated 7th. We were 9th in yardage (total defense). Over the course of the season, we've been above average overall. That's just a fact that has continued to elude some of the people here, despite it being explained many times.

In Lambeau, the defense has actually been even better. In six of the eight games at home...which IS where we'll be in the playoffs.....the opponent hasn't gone over 21. The two exceptions were when we beat the Bears 41-25 and they got a late garbage TD, and the 28-22 loss to Minnesota, which was probably the defense's weakest showing of the season. If your weakest showing is 28 points, that should tell you something.

The Mighty Rams defense....this year's scoring defense leader.....gave up 28 or more 3 times this season, always on the road (which IS where they'll be playing). They've held 9 opponents to 21 or less....just like the Packer defense.

My expectations for our two Lambeau playoff games, regardless of the opponent, is that we'll score 35 or more points (which we usually do) and hold the opponent to about 25 or less (which we usually do).

As a general rule you should be more concerned about the pass play as those are the plays that can hurt you quickly. That doesn't mean you don't worry about the run but you better protect your backside. We are much better prepared as a team then we were last year against SF. That has been shown over the past few weeks. Now, with Snacks it provides us with even more run D.

Some, need to get over the 2 DL vs 3DL because it is very situational and every game needs and even during each game, needs different schemes. IE: your up 17 in the 2nd half, you don't play the run; the opponent is gouging you with some big pass plays because you don't have enough backfield players....this list could go on and on for a very long time regarding when to play light vs heavy fronts. Adjustments need to be made. A game is a chess match between and OC and DC and guess what, they both lose sometimes and it's not always the DC or OC fault, most of the time it is execution by the players.

It's also overly critical to nitpick plays that don't work, unless you are giving credit for all the right play calls by the D coordinator. It's not as easy as just saying we should always play 3DL.

Probably fair. But the Packers had at most an 11 point lead in the first half which was reduced to 8 on Chicago's very next drive, and 8 was the margin at halftime. GB got the 2nd half kickoff but had a 3 and out. Chicago then cut the lead to 5 where it remained until GB got the ball with 11:22 left in the 4th. 5 points is not a big lead. In the 3rd quarter, Chicago went on a 15 play, 8 Minute drive with 7 passes and 8 runs, but turned the ball over on 4th and 1 at the GB 26 yard line on an incomplete pass with 11:22 left in the game. Big play. The Packers then went on a beautiful 7 minute 35 second drive on 12 plays and scored a TD to push the lead to 12.

I think the 2.06 true defensive lineman stat is important. GB was able to use nickel and still limit the bears' ground attack to 3.1 yards/carry or so. The Packers weren't able to get off the field but Chicago used a ton of plays to get anywhere. Made it a close game even if I felt confident GB would win. At least until AR threw a couple passes up for grabs, but they all safely hit the ground.

Not to put too fine a point on it, TGR, but Chicago spent a lot of time not scoring any points. Yes, it kept our offense off the field but if you don't score any points, it's kind of irrelevant.

Your statement..."Chicago used a ton of plays to get anywhere" ....might be more accurately stated as "Chicago used a ton of plays to get nowhere". 8 minutes to score nothing. After their opening drive...which was well-planned and practiced and executed......they didn't do much for the rest of the day.

TGR, Thanks as always for your efforts. I know Keke was hurt but I noticed in the game and detailed in your stats that Lowry played a lot, most noticeably for me was in the 2 DL sets. I don't watch the coaches tape but he looked like he was getting pushed around. I'm a Lancaster fan, probably because he exceeds expectations more than how good he is, be he didn't look very stout either. Did you see something similar? Lancaster and Lowry bring extremely limited pass rush so why use them instead of Snacks? I'm assuming first game, let snacks get comfortable and show some love to your vets but I hope going forward either I'm wrong and L & L are better than what I saw or Snacks gets more snaps. Heck line Snacks up at NT and Clark and Keke in 3 tech and you have pass rush and run stuff DL out there.

Liked your point on ST changes. It is the time of year that Starters begin taking snaps replacing depth guys. I hope that trend you spotted continues.

Lastly, I'm not a C. Sullivan fan. Not down on him, just think he's not a strong Nickel defender. He was in all sorts of plays yesterday. Was this due to his guy being targeted or him helping out. Maybe some combination? I'm really hoping the Packers use some resources on a Slot CB in the draft, but a better scenario would be that C Sullivan is playing well and I'm just not giving him the credit due.

Sullivan has had ups and downs, but last night was his best game tackling and covering. He usually makes a splash play and gets beat. Last night he didnt do much flashy stuff but he consistently was solid all day. The 4th down stop on allen robinson was his best play all season. Hes just another guy who is starting to peak and become more consistent at the right time. We need him to play like this with ab and godwin and mike evans probably coming to lambeau in 2 weeks. Hes had some rough games, but so has savage, amos, and every other defender out thete earlier this year. The guy who they obviously targeted yesterday was kevin king. He actually held up well, considering the volume that went his way. He missed a few tackles, but had 10 tackles himself, many for minimal gains. He just needs to wrap up and go low.

Given the quality of his play over the last month, Gary has earned more snaps. Pettine does seem to lean toward the guys with big contracts until it is beyond obvious a change should be made. Gary, Barnes and both safeties are the reasons this defense is playing better.

#98 (Harrison) didn't make any splash plays, but he didn't give up any big runs through his area either. I think he is a better addition than either Rush or Price. Assuming Keke is back for the first playoff game, the Packers D-line should have a decent 5 man rotation.

I love Barnes! He has settled the middle linebacker problem and is better than either Martinez or Kirksey. What a fortunate find by Gute.

I don't do fantasy, so that article sounds almost bizarre to me. PFF does end the section as having identified ILB as GB's number one need heading into 2021.

It's the #1 need, unless it's not. PFF has no clue what The Plan is at 1265 Lambeau.

We're going to lose a starting corner. Given the Packers stated priority of defending the pass first, it probably makes sense that they'd address that before adding to Barnes, Kirksey, et al.

This is just my opinion, but if you replace Montravious Adams with a rookie early in the draft, that probably helps the defense more than an ILB taken at the same spot in the draft.

And Bakhtiari's injury puts us in a tough situation for the start of 2021 because he probably won't be ready. The Packers might spent an early pick on another Elgton Jenkins type if he's there (Jenkins was taken at #50).

We won't take a QB in the first round this year. Or a WR, or a RB, or a TE. I'm like 99% certain on that. I don't think we'll spend pick #32 on an ILB, or edge rusher. I'd be willing to wager a cold six pack of PBR that our first pick will be a DB, a DL, or an OL.

I don't do fantasy either.

I suspect Bakh's injury means GB does not make Wagner a cap casualty and figures it can get by at OT until Bakh's return, which well might not be until December or the playoffs. If there is an OT sitting there at pick 32 that they like (or whatever it turns out to be), then maybe an OT.

CB seems likelier than an ILB to me. A DL is not out of the question. BPA in the first round is likeliest of all.

My guess is either way Wagner isn't a cap casualty. Tackles are not a dime a dozen and he has played well for us.

I agree Murf. The idea that the Packers would play against Wagner twice each season for several years, study all his film intensely, offer him a multi-year contract and then a year later cut him makes little sense to me. That’s how they do stuff in Detroit, maybe, but a well run organization doesn’t keep changing directions.

Protecting Rodgers is THE priority on offense. He can win with bargains at the skill positions if he has time to do the job. We lost Lane Taylor early in the year. We lost Bakhtiari twice. We had to play without Linsley. But Jenkins and Wagner and Turner. Patrick contributed.

We’re going to lose Linsley. Probably Lane Taylor is finished. I don’t think the Packers are looking to blow any more holes in the line.

I put it to you that the assumptions applied by PFF could be the issue. When played as a solo ILB in Pettine’s scheme ( the majority of the time) the grade seems to expect things I don’t think the role calls for from him or whomever and in some cases conflicts directly. Put simply, Pettine’s system itself is a bad fit for their grading construct.

Have you ever seen the bios of some of the PFF analysts who grade and do rankings? Many are fresh out of college stats class with zero knowledge of football. It is almost laughable how much some people put in their rankings.

46 offensive snaps vs 75 defensive snaps is usually not a recipe for a blow out win powered by awesome 4th quarter defense. If anything, it makes sense that a blow out would tighten up in the 4th.

This team continues to amaze me. Credit to both sides for making such a disparity work vs a team that was playing for their playoff spot.

From the beginning of the game, the Packer defensive package seemed to be built on forcing the Bears to throw in the middle, and to choke the sideline off. As others have said, give the Bears credit for staying away from temptation, till they were force to late in the game.

Given the down-distance situations, I expected to see AJ Dillon allowed to build on his success of last week.

Perhaps if he saw the ball on 3rd and short the TOP and number of plays would be more level.

Love the win, hope that the decisions by MLF were game 17 specific, making many of the same choices vs a better opponent in a playoff game just might lead to early and extended time on the golf course.

Clean it up guys!

Not sure what you are talking about. If we consider 3rd and short being under 5 yards, then it only happened three times and Rodgers threw the ball every time. The results;
MVS = TD
Adams = First Down
Jones = incomplete and had to punt.

I'd take those odds....I think Rodgers and MLF know how to run the offense and bit better then you.

Maybe you should spend time reviewing things before you criticize the play caller.

worth noting that the 3rd down throw to Jones that did not work did not work because #50 on the Bears made a really good play. Sometimes that happens. There was nothing to fault in the play call.

"Instead of taking a kneel, the Seahawks threw a pass to David Moore so he could reach 35 receptions for the season, thereby triggering a $100,000 incentive in his contract. "

Thats cool. I'd rather hear about this than the Eagles tanking in a game with playoffs implications. I hope the Eagles pick is a bust.

JJ, hard to say what the Eagles motives were, but might it have been to see how their back up QB plays in a tough situation? Pre-season doesn't mirror regular season so much and I didn't see players not trying in the 4th quarter while their back up QB was in.

It is pretty easy - think they move down to the 10th pick from the 6th and it is not just in round one that it counts 2 and 3 also.

Consider it a character flaw, but I didn't want AR to play in the meaningless Detroit game previously. I wanted to try to win that game, just w/o AR. I was perfectly fine if it meant getting a better draft pick. I just thought GB had too much money invested in AR to have him hurt in the last game of the year.

Murf, I didn't watch the Philly game. Tons of tweets from folks, Giants fans, Eli Manning, media, but IDK. Sudfield missed all of 2019, hadn't played in 2020 and there was no preseason. He was a UFA in 2020 playing for $2M, and will be a UFA in 2021. It is possible that Philly wanted to see what he's got.

4th and 4 at the Washington 4 yard line down 3 with 2:01 in the 3rd. Pederson disdained the short Field Goal, opting to go for it, calling a pass play. Hurts INC to Watkins. This was Hurts last play. Hurts was rocking a 25 passer rating. IDK if they tanked.

Everybody and their mother knows sudfeld is not the future. They tanked. If your gonna evaluate a qb, wouldnt hurts be the guy you want to evaluate? They know what sudfeld was. He threw an awful pick, dropped a snap and didnt jump on it, and still didnt get benched. They tanked. It was pathetic. But hey now tb12 has chase young breathing down on him saturday so it mightve been best for us packers.

Still to many snaps for Lowrey. MVS- after he dropped that ball: The snaps went down. When you want the ball you use your Hands. It sad to see him waste his talent. Separation is something we need. Sullivan- best game. Dillion: 3rd and short. Please. Taylor and Austin. Shepard clones?

Taylor is the same athletically as shep. But no mistakes as of yet. No drops. No fumbles. Ill take that. Tavon hopefully got his fumble out of his system.

I think it depends on how you assess that. Shepherd (5'11", 186 pounds) at his pro day: 4.57 40-time, 35.5 vertical, 7.13 3-cone. Taylor (6'2", 211 pounds) at his pro day: 4.48 40-time, 36 vertical, 6.81 3-cone.

FWIW in relation to PFFs low rating on Barnes, they also had this to say.

"Barnes finished the fantasy season as the most efficient linebacker in terms of tackles and fantasy points per snap. He could be an interesting player for 2021, depending on how Green Bay addresses the linebacker position"

PFF may need to revisit their grading paradigm too. It’s fairly likely that they are grading oranges as apples in Pettine’s system as far as ILB performance goes.

Due to Packer mistakes and miss cues; Austin fumble, dropped interceptions, dropped passes for scores, def off sides etc this game would have been an even bigger blowout...42-10! Right now—The only team that can stop the Pack is the Pack! Bring on Tampa Bay for a rematch!!! You think Aaron Rodgers is going to want a chance to make up for the last Tampa Game?? CANT WAIT!!

I’m not sure why Dillon did not receive more snaps or carries. I realize Williams returned this week, but this game was a good opportunity to give Dillon a few carries against a better defense than the Titans. Maybe they are planning to use him as a secret weapon in the playoffs.

IMO, Gary should be getting more snaps as well. He seems to either be involved in the tackle or close to the ball on nearly every snap when he is in there.

It’s good that our coaching staff has the extra week to review everything and hopefully prepare some tweaks on both sides of the ball for the playoffs. Thanks, Since ‘61

Gary should def get more snaps. As for dillon, i think it was 2 reasons why he didnt play much. 1. The packers respect seniority, maybe a little too much. 2. Lafleur is about matchups. The 5 wide was working with aaron jones because he can flank out and get an lb matched up on a wr. It seemed like the most 5 wide they ran all year. And aj was the best man for the job. They also only played 45 snaps on offense. Dillon will get his chance i hope. Maybe more 2 back sets in the future??

Similar strange thing when Saints ran up the score late to give Kamara his sixth touchdown - officials participated in that he clearly did not get in - knee down about same time helmet reached the goal line but by then even replay booth thought game was over.

Did you see the marvin jones td that got overturned? And the phantom roughing call in that game on 4th down?? That was a weird one. Too bad nobody watched the week 17 lions vikings battle to see it.
