Packers Practice Round-Up Day 6 August 22, 2020

Saturday's practice was partly in pads. The outdoor practice lasted one hour and twenty-five minutes, per Rob Demovsky.
GENERAL/PERSONNEL:
Players not practicing: Jaire Alexander (present though), Amos, M. Adams (seen in a boot per Huber), Zadarius Smith and Wagner. Wood
Practice was partly in pads. The outdoor practice lasted one hour and twenty-five minutes. Demovsky
Of the UDFAs, Stanford Samuel, Delontae Scott and Tipa Gileai have had the best camps so far. Herman
ILB Olivadotti notes that is a fair amount of speed in the ILB corps. Enough to win with. Wood
ESB said that the type of surgery he needed for his high ankle injury last year obviously meant that he would miss the entire season. The decision to put him on IR was clear-cut. Demovsky
QUARTERBACKS/WIDE RECEIVERS:
Boyle throws across his body to the opposite side of the field into double coverage where it mercifully falls incomplete. Boyle with perfect pass to Baylis who drops it. Herman [Andy loves Boyle. Latter play is noted under TE heading as well.]
Another good day for MVS, who found the soft spot in deep zones twice on passes from Rodgers, including on the last play of practice. Wood
MVS with a gorgeous route and he catches a laser from Rodgers. Practice is over. Herman [Same play as tweet above.]
Love with a horrible interception: throws it up for grabs under pressure. Huber
Love to Shepherd over the middle with Ento in coverage. Herman
Love leads Turner nicely on a crosser. Hodkiewicz
Love with a fumble on the snap. Herman
Fumbled snap to Love with Patrick at center. Herman
Rodgers to Ervin down the deep sideline on a nice throw. Herman

Boyle to Malik Taylor. Boyle to Shepherd, who beat Hollman in coverage. Herman
Bolye with bullets to Taylor and Shepherd. His arm strength is very impressive. Spofford
Boyle misses Begelton. Herman
Rodgers misses Lewis who was wide open. Herman
Rodgers 50 yards to Begelton. Beautiful throw and catch. Nagler
Rodgers incomplete to Shepherd with Hollman in coverage. herman
Rodgers hits ESB in stride on a comeback with Jackson in coverage. Herman

Boyle: 20 of 29 in team periods; Love 17 of 31. Demovsky
RUNNING BACKS:
Better job by Dillon and Dexter Williams in pass pro today. Owczarski
TIGHT ENDS:
Baylis got a step on Burks but the ball went through his his hands. Wood
Deguara, Sternberger, Tonyan, Savage and Sullivan looked good in 1 x 1s. Schneidman
Sternberger knocked a DB on his rear on a run block. TEs should do that, but still a good sign. Demovsky
OFFENSIVE LINEMEN:
Two good reps by RT Turner against Preston Smith. Wood
Light stuffs Tim Williams and then Gary. Herman
Leglue with two nice reps against Ramsey.
Conway goes 1-1 against Hester. Herman
Tough couple of snaps for Hanson including a high snap. Herman

LaFleur doing the snap count gets Gary to jump offside twice. Wood
Gary with nice pressure against Billy Turner. Herman [Not sure if Turner was at OT or OG.]
Greene is listed at 197 pounds but said he's playing at 208. Was 212 last year, IIRC. Huber
Garvin makes quick work of Leglue. Herman
Greene Power Cleans 345 pounds. Reiner
Tipa Gilaei smokes OL Zach Johnson twice. Herman
DEFENSIVE LINEMEN:
Lowry with a nice run stop. Herman
Lowry showing more strength. He has knocked Jenkins back a few time - not easy to do. Silverstein
Keke with a run stop on Dillon. Herman
Nice shed by Delontae Scott against Patrick. Herman
Keke goes 2-0 against Runyan. Herman
Keke looking good at 3 technique - goes 2-0. Hodkiewicz

I was going to put Stanford Samuel's photo at the top of this article, but alas, I could not find a photo. Ditto for my second choice, Tipa Gileai. Both these guys sound like they have made the practice squad and now are looking to make the 53. So I went with MVS who was also deserving.
It was a sloppy day overall on both offense and defense. False starts on both units, a couple of fumbled snaps, a high snap from Hanson, a drop or two, and some open receivers not seen. Some encouraging words about Kamal Martin from the Coaches who like the way he looks and his length and speed, but no tweets about his actual play. Jackson and King seem to be coming along. Bakh has been off the field for a few plays but looks really good.

LOL. Give Andy Herman a bit of credit: he loves Boyle but he issued a tweet when Boyle threw across his body to the opposite side of the field into double coverage and noted that the duck mercifully fell incomplete.

Telling Packerland right now, Love was a wasted pick. We have the new starter in GB in the post Rodgers Era, and his name is Tim Boyle. Right now people, Queen at ILB, or Jordan Love at QB? No Brainer, and I'm not a Queen (the LBR) fan by the way, that's how much I disliked the Love Pick..
Here's the way I look at this, if drafting Jordan Love helped develop Tim Boyle, I guess that can still be viewed as a huge win. I always believe #1 picks need to show "IT", some semblance of a "Pulse" or #1 talent. We've been had, Jordan Love is like a late round pick camp arm.. Hope Tim keeps lighting it up and rides the dude right out town.
Gutz just drafted DeShown Kizer, as long as Tim Keeps lighting up camp, I'm still OK with it... Nothing better than watching a team draft a guy they think is the future, and then a player on the roster says "BS", I'm better than that, I'll outwork him, I'll outplay, I'll work harder, I'll work smarter, and then the real talent evolves from the depths.. Love it!! Go Tim Boyle, light it up baby!!!

Denial is a powerful drug....Love is their guy....he will play at the latest after 2 years.....Let the Tim Boyle is a franchise QB narrative train live on in infamy as he has already proved to so many through his extensive playing time and resume..

Anyone else notice in the report the sentence GB running backs finding space in the middle of the field?

Yeah, I felt the need to include it because it was in jarring contrast to some tweets about Lowry and Keke (IIRC) having some run stuffs. I am hopeful that the truth is somewhere in the middle.
It is something of a zero sum game. If Tonyan, for example, threw a great block, that means someone got blocked to open a big hole.
