It's been a long time since I looked forward to watching the Packers on defense. Micah is a huge addition, but we are getting excellent play from multiple defensive players.

Before reading Kevin's article, I would have said pump the brakes. Two games out of 17 is a good start but not a guarantee of future success.

Yet after reading it, I say no, not at all. Count me as one of the "Excited". This is a very good complementary team. (compliments to Al)

It’s such a difference to see all these first round draft picks playing like we hoped. Gary has always been good; he’s just been double teamed so much. Now he can work his game successfully. LVN is coming along and looking the part. Wyatt is showing why they chose the fifth year option. Quay is showing why they are talking about wanting to extend him. Not sure if it’s Hafley with Covington making the difference. Or Parsons. Or both. But it’s fun to watch.

The Correct Answer: HELL NO - The Packers are playing exciting football right now and all of us here on CHTV or the Pack fans in the stands, or in their living rooms or on their bar stools - have every right to be excited right now!

We all see an energized and disruptive Defense imposing its' will on opponents' Offenses - we all see our WRs and TEs running crisp routes and " catching " the ball!

The Pack has beaten 2 tough opponents and that gives rise to every fan's well earned excitement!

Ride the high of victories now cause sure enough, we will have dark games and experience the vinegar taste of defeat.

Be an excited fan - that is a far better mindset than the fans of our last 2 opponents probably are experiencing.

In football, the truth is shown on the field, not in the columns of pundits and journalists nor in the glib comments of analysts and play - by - play guys.

So far the truth shown by the 2025 Packers is exciting!

"Fan", of course, is short for fanatic. Fans are supposed to be excited when the home team comes out and plays lights out football. The Packers have clearly shown that the difference between winning and also-ran is talent with some coaching sprinkled in. "The youngest team in the league" is still young, but now becoming very experienced. The other major factor is the emergence of team speed. Even the lines are fast of foot which really puts the pressure on the other team.
Gone are the days when you would see Jaire jump on a guys back or whiff rather than make a tackle. This team defensively is fast and they tackle better than I've seen in decades. Offensively they can hit you short, middle or deep in the passing game or they simply batter you with Jacobs on the ground.
While injuries are again piling up and could begin to derail things things, right now this team is showing the NFL that playing as a unit leads to success.

Of course they still have to beat the Bears and Vikings.

Question: when you watched Monday Night Football--Bears vs. Vikings--which team did you hope would lose? Someone has to. I usually cheer for the Bears to win, but this year for the first time I backed the Vikings.
Ben Johnson is a jerk and thumping that pompous bozo would be extra special.

It's difficult to cheer for the Vikings, given they're the organization that spawned Randy Moss.

It’s 2 games in and it’s typically said to take 3 or 4 before we know enough to decently assess teams. That said, the defense has done enough to be visibly exciting. If the offense can pull itself up close to what Hafley is delivering so far, then the time for excitement will be here.

I think we can get more excited if Detroit shows they're not bad on Sunday. We have to measure against the competition. Remember, Washington beat the NY Giants with Russell Wilson at QB, and Russell is fully cooked.

We should be excited—this is what we’ve been waiting for.
…and it’s just fine if we don’t make the SB. The energy, fun, and excitement for this team is palpable.

Yes, be excited!! Let's keep things in perspective though, and remember 2011 & Super Bowl XXXII. Don't forget the end goal, stay focused TEAM!

The crazy thing is, that there is so much room for improvement, yet for this team (Offensive & Special Teams, especially). MLF has not even opened up the playbook completely yet....
*no end runs, and few wheel routes, screens/draws for our RBs (jet sweeps yes, but we have not really tried Jacobs or Wilson on a pre-planned end-run, for instance),
*Love has missed on some passes, RPO's, and option runs (not that I want him running normally, but if we need it, he has proved he can!),
*Our run blocking has not been in synch. Once it is....look out!
*The offense has self-destructed at times with penalties and missed assignments at bad times (all do, but if we can lessen this???).
*Injuries to starters - ABanks, Tom, Jordan's thumb (he would have not been under center if it was not much better), Reed, and Cox. When we get healthier, are we better? We have yet to have Christian and Marshawn play (Can't wait to see that!) .

There will come a time when this team will be heavily challenged. I look forward to seeing how this team and staff handle it & overcome. In the meantime, enjoy!

Would this be the appropriate time to remind people that I think that punt returns are stupid because the occasional good return doesn't offset the penalties, turnovers, and injuries that occur.?? Or that having a rookie out there to catch a punt on our own 5 yard line was a good idea?

Is there another Hafley out there some where? Because the Packers will need a new defense coach next year, Hafley if things keep going this way he will be a new head coach somewhere next season, unless he replaces LaFluer!

Before Micah, the only weakness in the starting 22 was a pass rusher who could routinely win fast. Now that doesn’t exist. The team is talented, deep and versatile.

They were going to be a team who could win a Lombardi if the pieces came together. Now they are a juggernaut.

You can never “expect” to win it all. It kills the joy even if you end up winning. And most often it leads to pain.

But you can expect to be in for a fun ride with more highs than lows. I was already expecting that and the bar of expectation is now higher!

I watched the game at a local social establishment and it was really fun to watch all the Packer fans coming to the realization that this was REAL! I can't remember a team that looked so complete since the '96' team swept to the SB. Even the 2011 team had a fatal flaw (defense) that was clearly evident despite their success. It may be nit picking but I'd like to see our play calling stay aggressive a little longer than MLF seems to be inclined. In both games so far the final score was closer than the actual game merited. Otherwise... OMG! This will be a fun ride. GPG!

I'd say "tempered excitement" is where we should be at after just two games. The Packers just "hit their marks" which were1)win at Lambeau, 2) beat division opponents at home and 3) win against playoff level teams at home.

Super Bowls aren't won in September. But we do have more reason to hope this early than has been the case for the past 2 or 3 seasons.
