Seeing as Green Bay Packers safety Morgan Burnett was able to take part in the warmups, even though he didn't practice on Wednesday, you'd think he'd be close to returning.

The same could be said for cornerback Sam Shields, although after already missing more than a week with a knee injury, Burnett's calf injury would appear to be relatively less severe.

On Thursday the Packers hit the practice field once again, when observers will find out if Burnett and Shields will return to action.

And for that matter, whether running back James Starks and defensive lineman Datone Jones will return too. Both of them are nursing ankle injuries and neither practiced Wednesday.

The Packers will release a new injury report on Thursday after practice as they continue their preparations for their upcoming game with the New Orleans Saints.

Head coach Mike McCarthy may provide updates in a couple of forums on Thursday.

First McCarthy will make his weekly appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio at 10:30 a.m. CT.

Then after practice, McCarthy will meet the media for a press conference at approximately 2:00 p.m., which will be streamed live at Packers.com.

During the evening hours, safety Micah Hyde will host his weekly radio show 1 on 1 with the Boys, aired on 101.1 FM WIXX in Green Bay at 6:00 p.m.

Hyde will bring a teammate as a guest on the show that can also be streamed live with audio at WIXX.com and video on their Ustream channel.

Wide receiver Jordy Nelson will also do a private autograph signing for Legends of the Field, a Wisconsin-based sports memorabilia company.

Nelson's autograph will cost $99.99 minimum, depending on the item he signs.
