Packers Calendar: Offseason Phase 2 Wraps Up

As Memorial Day weekend approaches, the Packers will put the finishing touches on Phase 2 of the offseason training program.

As Memorial Day weekend approaches, the Green Bay Packers are about to wrap up Phase 2 of their offseason training program on Friday.

Phase 1, which began in late April, consisted of almost exclusively strength and conditioning while Phase 2, now three weeks old, was dedicated to Individual Position Workouts (IPWs).

For up to four hours a day, four days a week, the wide receivers practiced together, the defensive linemen practiced together, etc.

Rookies have been integrated into the program as coaches are trying to get them caught up on the team's offensive and defensive schemes.

It's the last step before the third and final phase of the offseason program begins next week: Organized Team Activities (OTAs).

Next week, for the first time time this season, the entire team will practice together instead of individual units.

Consider Friday to be the finishing touches before those workouts take place.

The teams doesn't allow either the public or the media to watch workouts in either Phase 1 or Phase 2 of the offseason program. But they will during OTAs next week.
