So basically he's an Eric Wilson replacement. That's okay. I didn't have time to listen to the whole thing (Gotta work!) so maybe this was covered, but what I'd like to know is why Simmons' career trajectory declined so steeply, from being the best linebacker in college football and a 7th overall draft pick to now just being a journeyman special teams player.

I've heard the theory that the Cardinals used him in too many different ways instead of just letting him settle in at linebacker, but according to Andy, he's such an incomplete linebacker that you don't even want him on the field on running downs. Yikes.
