This is encouraging. I would love to hear Andy's explanation for why Banks is so poorly regarded by so many people. Even Andy had a very negative impression of Banks after looking at some of the film a couple days ago. This is a 180-degree turnaround.

I wonder if the 49ers O-line got scapegoated somewhat because the team had such a bad year. But when I look at rushing yards per attempt, the Niners were 8th in the league, in a virtual tie with the Packers at 4.7 yards per attempt. And most of that was with backup RBs. They were tied for 11th in sacks allowed per game, and they were 4th in passing yards. So Banks was part of an offensive unit that performed respectably, at least in terms of statistics.

It was more of a defensive failure in San Francisco last year. They were 29th in points allowed.
