What an absolute train wreck in Denver? This coaching staff did not have this team ready to play. MLF looked lost! We better find a better backup QB! The clowns we have won't work! Defense looked like Joe Barry 2.0!!!!

The only thing I'll disagree with you on is our depth against their starters is a GREAT contest. I would have liked to have seen our coaches practice their in-game adjustment once it was established that O line wasn't able to run block against this matchup; there was still significant talent on the bench even without starters. At least try some different combination to see if it might work better especially since you're committed to the run. I'm glad and surprised none of our RBs were actually injured, but I suspect they're all worse for the wear. Even with a better combination on the O line, a little more changeup in playcalling could have given a RB a better opportunity?

Of course I'm not privy to the offensive game plan our coaches were operating under, maybe this was an ideal learning situation somehow? I don't see it.

Without protection I'm not overly concerned about our backup QB situation and don't think a valid QB evaluation can be made, except taking an unecessary sack is still better than a fumble.

Defensively I think I get it a little more. Neither side of the ball gave away the playbook, D flew around made some plays. Even allowing every Denver QB to score, there's tape to see what who needs to work on.

I'd love to see film breakdown on which of our O linemen got beat by who, and how.

Andy, you mentioned looking at potential back up quarterbacks around the league. I've watched a lot of preseason games lately and it seems I seldom see any kickers miss. The free agent that Dallas signed last season was a former soccer player and he made 35 straight kicks last season. In the game I watched the other day when Dallas played Las Vegas, I saw the Cowboys kicker, Brandon Aubrey, trot out on the field and smoothly kick the ball right through the uprights from 66 yards away. The guy is kicking at a 94.7 field goal percentage. So many games in the NFL are won and lost by a small margin and getting a reliable field goal kicker for the Packers should be a high priority. I know there are a number of teams with multiple kickers competing for the job; I hope the Packers are looking closely at what may be available come cut down day.
