The "waiting and see what happens" plan of inaction is what we are doing at multiple position groups. Even though we finally "got off the pot" by starting the long overdue CB room rebuild, we are ignoring big holes at RB, Edge, and TE. We were already short @ RB because we lost Wilson, and now GB could be without their RB1 in Jacobs. In yesterday's podcast Andy highlighted some trade candidates and any of Vidal-Chargers, Benson-Cardinals, Allen-Jets would be upgrades additions in GB, if the cost wasn't stupid. A 5th for any of the 3 would be about right. Vidal could be worth a 4th with a 7th and the player coming back. We would spend more than that in the 2027 draft if we drafted a RB. GB can't count on Lloyd and now add Jacobs to that list.

We need Edge insurance because of Parsons absence and recovery. The GB backups have no NFL proven pass rush production. It is insane if the plan is to let Gannon try to work "magic" with our young guys. Don't forget that the players he had to work with in Philly were all 1st round picks, not 4th round and later players like we have. LVN was a first but has been a bust so far. Just spend the $2-6 million and buy Clowney, Epenesa, or Cam Jordan. That is such a tiny fraction of the money we spend on players, and we could still run a solid rotation to get the other guys plenty of snaps.

TE is the other hole and problem. Kraft coming off injury like Parsons and Toms. We still don't have a real, experienced Y TE on the team. I like Whyle but Musgrave has produced like a 6th round pick vs a 2nd rounder. Of these 3 big needs TE could probably wait longer to see if some player gets waived that we like. I still think a potential trade with the Cowboys for Luke Scoonmaker would solve this problem for as little as a 7th round pick.

It would have been nice to hear some more good news about the progress of Strong, Martinez, and Nixon in this podcast. I would love to know if Strong or Martinez was the plan at RB until the Jacobs news hit the fan. Leave Savion at WR and use ACTUAL RBs at the RB position. No more square pegs in round holes. Williams should be in line to catch 30 balls this year.

Strong was mentioned elsewhere. I heard he looked good catching passes (one of the questions I have with him). Martinez has an injury and Nixon was focussed on returns. Most non very high pick rookies have taken time to be worked-in in past seasons. In any case, other than speed, agility and hands, there’s not much one can tell about a RB without pads and contact.

Thank You, I'm glad I'm not the only who thinks LVN was a bust as a #1 pick. For me Gute is an idiot, most of the problems with Packer personnel is because of a weak GM. I agree the team still needs help at Edge rusher, TE and now RB. This is all happening in GB while all the other teams in the NFC north are getting stronger. So far I'm surprised at some of the signings Policy has made in Mgt, Coaching & Players. GPG

I like Strong as a viable option CW. It's time for GB to give him a serious chance to win a 53 spot. He has as much talent & potential as anyone, and unlike Lloyd, he is always available.

He had decent hands in college but S Dakota State didn't have to use the RBs much in the passing game. He looks very comfortable "hands catching" in the highlights I have seen of him. Blocking has been mentioned as a concern for Strong , Martinez, and most all of the college RBs. Hopefully GB has worked to improve his technique because that could be the thing that separates Strong from the others. He has breakaway speed and is was a strong runner in college.

It's bad enough we needed a RB2 when we had a great option in Wilson, but this Jacobs situation is a real problem for a team that runs the ball 50% of the time. Although I believe Jacobs is innocent until proven guilty, as anyone should be, I believe the Packers will cut their losses and save the embarrassment.
