I'm afraid so, chalk it up as another draft bust for Gute. When was the last time we drafted an immediate impact player? Clay Walker? 15 yrs ago. And that was before Gute. I think Gute has proven he doesn't have a clue when it comes to the draft. When the packers announce their draft pick its kind of like kissing your sister, you kind of scratch your head and say, " Who, what just happened. "

another head scratcher for sure...its that Gute has the "smartest man in the room" syndrome....all these other teams are dumb...

Speaking about not having a clue! That Clay Walker wasn't much of a tackler, but sure could play the guitar..

Watson was admittingly a huge draft crush for me. Thus far however, all I am seeing is a really fast, tall, athletic kid who is made of glass (so far), hands of stone (so far), and doesn't seem to fight for the ball like he owns it (so far). He also isn't creating much separation (so far).
I also have to say that it seems as though he doesn't have the greatest coaches/teachers the game has to offer either. The same coaches who (so far) are making a 1st round pick, Love, look very bad in spite of having him under their wings for the last 3-4 years.
With all these variables? Is he a bust? Yes (so far).

I think thats a fair.
He just hasn't shown the separation since
he dropped Rodgers pass, and said it wouldn't
happen again.
And he has to practice.

Imo he was a terrible pick considering who we could have had. Gutt passed on three very good tight ends in the first this year. Reason he wants toght ends who block not catch.
Ya gutt passed on watt he only plays one position.

He is definitely not respected by opposing D backs. Add to that being injury prone and lacking the athleticism necessary to competer for the ball, so yes, I'd say he's a bust.

There were many calling for DaVante Adams to be cut in his 2nd year. I'm not comparing the two, other than it's way too early to say in my opinion. His strength is the long ball and we can't seem to throw it long. Our O-line sucks, QB is iffy, coaching is questionable and nobody is catching very many passes for the Packers this year.

A month ago I was glad we didn't trade Watson for Jonathan Taylor. Now I'd do that trade even though we have a crappy run blocking Oline!

Christian Watson reminds me of another wide out we had back in the da. Fast as hell, but had hands of stone and ran poor routes if it wasn't straight down the field. When he left the game I think he started a school to teach speed to aspiring young athletes. I bet he kept his hands in his pockets.

Christian Watson has no clue how to use his size....he is the smallest 6'5" WR I have ever scene. No physicality really.

I was looking for more of the unvarnished truth rather than I suspect got said.
Needs:
2-3 starting offensive linemen
? tight ends
? wide receivers
1 running back
2 starting safeties
1 starting defensive lineman
1 slot corner
1 ILB for depth and/or development
? means young players in place but not breaking out yet. 10 games left.

Note to Gutt: most gms are looking for the talent from fbs division, not wasting precious draft capitol on fcs players who couldnt cut it in the fbs due to lack of size, speed, abilites or intellegence.
