Julius Peppers Named NFC Defensive Player of the Week
Peppers becomes only the second player in NFL history to win this honor with three different teams.
Green Bay Packers linebacker Julius Peppers was named on Tuesday as the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance this past Thursday against the Minnesota Vikings.
Peppers intercepted a pass from Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder in the second quarter and returned it 49 yards for a touchdown.
That particular play was Peppers' 10th interception of his career, making him the first player in NFL history to have at least 100 sacks and 10 interceptions.
He also credited with a half sack, one of six on the day for the Packers defense.
Randall Liu, the NFL's Director of NFC Communications, had this to pass long regarding Peppers on Twitter:
Julius Peppers (@Panthers, @ChicagoBears, @Packers) & Chris Doleman are only 2 to win NFC Def. Player of Week w/ 3 teams

TT and Capers did a great job jumping on this opportunity. He's possibly the best free agent pick up from the offseason, and he won't even count against us in the compensation pick equation!

And it's really awesome that the Bears are still paying a big part of his salary.
