Aaron Rodgers has lost his quick first step when bolting the pocket. He used to break the pocket and make a play, now he's being caught. It's tangible. It used to be when he broke the pocket, those first two steps were real quick with a lot of spring, but now, not so much.
We held the best offense in the league to 27 on their home field, after a bye week. And with little support from the offense. The last two teams that played in Buffalo (Tenn and Pitts) gave up 79 points in two games.

Rodgers is going to rally this team, or he is not. If he does, we'll have a shot; if he doesn't, then we're going to continue to lose and we're going to see Love on the field. How much of a difference that'll make, I don't know. I certainly didn't see us falling off the cliff this year, but it has happened. I don't think it's all on Rodgers, but this offense, again, was listless and ineffective , despite Jones playing great. I some times think our pass protection might look better with a quicker, more mobile guy on the field. Many years ago, the Cowboys had Drew Bledsoe and there was a lot of criticism of the line, but when he was injured and Romo came in, the criticism of the line stopped.

Call me crazy but, while I might not be quite as looped as Aaron, I also felt much better about this loss than I have most of the season. The Bills, ranked #1 in most polls, were a very tough opponent away, yet the Packers showed some heart, particularly in the second half. Our offense started to click and 200 yards rushing could perhaps be a winning template for the future. Our young receivers showed some growth. Rodgers showed us that, contrary to the reports of his death, he's still alive. Sadly, we left points on the board with those fourth down stops. Yes, the defense was bad in the first half with some shoddy tackling, but they did step up in the second half. If we can deliver a performance like this against other teams we can be competitive. Again, like Aaron's, my gut reaction also is that our season is NOT over, but as a 70 year old Packer fan since 1961, I will loyally watch each and every game no matter what.

If they would’ve done these 4 things they did tonight the 3 games prior, they might be sitting well in the division. Look, they were simply outmatched tonight. But they actually did some really good stuff. Oh boy did they run the ball well against a defense that doesn’t give up rushing yards. That’s the first thing. Secondly, they didn’t make many mistakes via turnover’s or penalties. Thirdly, they created turnovers which has been absent this year. Lastly, the coaches stuck to the running game and aggressively played defense despite two major injuries. If GB plays like this the rest of the year, minus injuries, they’ll be competitive.

This was the first game where I saw some fight. I also saw that the run game was excellent, but the horse that is Jones isn't enough to save the Offense, though Jones tried. Still a team of two halves.

Gut reaction:
First half looked like the fat kid on the junior high track team.... Making lots of motion, vibrations and banging around but going nowhere fast.
Second half, too little too late and still coming up short when needed most.

At the end of the day, the Bills failed to completely close the Packers out in a game that really wasn't competitive at any point. There were some signs of life, but I still don't see a path given that:

1) We are really banged up a month and a half away from our bye;
2) Even when healthy, the team's roster on the whole is lacking in talent at several positions, despite the immense amount of capital poured into it (especially on defense);
3) To close out with a chance at a postseason berth, we need to win at least 6 of our next 9 with some quality opponents still on the schedule;
4) None of our wins this year have come against opponents with winning records;
5) The Packers still haven't played anywhere close to a complete game this calendar year.

Despite being 1-6, Detroit could very well win next week against an exhausted and banged up Packers team in their third consecutive road game, and that would be curtains on 2022.

Not an infuriating loss, just a boring loss to a better team, and an uphill struggle once we got in the hole. We might have had a shot at winning this game had both Lazard and Cobb been out there. Doubs made some nice catches, but we desperately need a possession guy who can find the open spaces and keep the chains moving.

Dominant performance by the running game--I think we should have leaned on even more.

I love having players that are durable and always available, but Savage....just can't tackle. It's so easy to juke him and blow by for a big gain. Looks like it was a mistake picking up his option. I would have loved to see Gute draft Brisker, but noooo, because:

We used the pick on Watson, who should have come with a "Fragile, Handle With Care" stamp before he was drafted.

Other notes: Nice game from Jaire, congrats to Toure on his first TD catch and dance moves. That OPI on the Tonyan non-TD was suspect, the ejection of Walker was unnecessary (15 yards was enough), hopefully Campbell isn't hurt too badly.

I saw fight and no quit in the 2nd half from this team. Haven't seen much of that this year. If the Packers play the rest of the year like they did in this game, they will start stacking up some victories

If you ever needed a game that proved you must have a legit passing offense to win against elite competition in today's NFL, this was it. The Bills have one, the Packers do not. The Packers won the turnover battle. The Packers run/pass mix was about 50/50. They ran for over 200 yards. They had more total yards. They won time of possession. On the field, the Bills absolutely phoned in the 2nd half, content with the 3 score lead, that the Packers never seriously threatened.

I actually saw people praise the Packers for their "commitment to the run". As that "impressive" run game was unfolding, I viewed it as waving the white flag on the game. It sure didn't help them put points on the board. And it probably did not concern the Buffalo coaching staff to give up all those run game yards while holding a 3 score lead. At least, it has never bothered me when the shoe has been on the other foot.

Eight games in and we have the 13th pick in the 2023 draft. Let’s not muff that up with a trade for a WR that will do nothing to save the season.

I was expecting a loss. I was hoping for better play. I came away from this game feeling much better then I did the previous 3 games.

They finally found something that worked on offense. They found the run game and stuck with it, regardless of what the score was. And that was against the best run defense in the league stat wise. That is something to feel good about.

If they don't take away the Tonyan TD, this is a 6 point game on the final drive. (assuming everything played out the same way).

I just feel better about this game then previous games.

Again if you want to beat the Packers defense run the ball wherever Dean Lowry lines up and throw the ball over the middle probably to a wide open TE. Time has come to cut lose GM GUTE... Poor drafting and poor free agent signings, should have been gone long ago... When the Lions beat the Packers next week more fans will agree with me. At this point Packers need to be sellers before the trading deadline ends 11/1 to obtain more draft picks for a new GM.

Aside from age, the common thread for Rodgers, Wilson and Brady is sub par offensive line play. Giving up valuable capital for a so-so wide out will stunt the growth of guys they drafted and won't fix the line of scrimmage. Like it or not, Rodgers, even at his age, is still the primary weapon and they best find a way to keep him upright.

I was prepared to write how the Bills dominated the Packers and made them look foolish. Having riding some of these players like an old mule, I was impressed that this team never gave up. The pack gave the bills all they could handle. We hit them as hard as they hit us. There was no quit in this team. Out matched yes, out classed no.
Jones lit it up. Dillon was a bull. Rodgers showed he still has the touch. However, that fn achiles heel the Packers never ever fixed is still the bane of this losing, pass defense is god awful.
I still believe I would rather pass twice for an easy td then have to run 7 times and pass three to go 80 yards for a td. One of these options is the easy way to win.
Good job packers. Obvioiusly we have players who arent that good. Tell Gutt

Another one half of football played by the Packers. The second half, unfortunately the game was over by then. Defense allowed 5 consecutive scoring drives!!! Ridiculous. We get to 14-7 and they promptly fold and allow the Bills to go back up by 2 scores. The Packers defense just cannot stop the run and the league knows it. #1 against the pass because no one needs to throw the ball against our defense.

The Packers offense ran the ball well, which was good to see and proves that Jones should have been getting more touches all season long.
Jones had a great game. The OL was destroyed in most of this game on pass protection. It was a mostly futile effort, especially in the first half.

I don't know why MLF waited until halftime to motivate the team, he should be doing that before the game even starts. But here we are.
I would also say that if the Packers played 60 minutes like they played in the second half we would be at 5-3 and maybe 6-2 at this point.

The offense no longer has the firepower to hang in with a team like the Bills particularly when the defense can't stop the run.

Doubs and Toure's TDs were both great plays but they come few and far between these days. For those of you who missed the mid-seventies, this team is beginning to resemble the teams prior to the arrival of Lynn Dickey and James Lofton. I typically am the lets all take a breath person...but not this year. Their cap structure is an all in structure and this is a bad football team. It is a very bad sign when people are saying "well they showed some fight, it was closer than we thought" We trailed by 3 posessions, that is ALOT in the NFL and lost by double digits. The Packers were never in this game, they were outcoached and outclassed....again. they need to blow it up. The decision to give Rodgers that ludicrous extension is fireable. It is fireble because it will set this franchise back years.....Are we all in? Rebuild??? 1st round QB on the bench.....What are we?? WTF is this? To the Rodgers defenders...is there anything in this offensive performance that is his fault??

Despite being a natural pessimist, I saw some hope last night. Both TDs awesome. 7 yards a carry for "Showtime" and 5.4 for AJ. Team didn't quit.
As everybody says, 1 game at a time.
So here's my prediction........... we should beat Lions next week.
Gotta start somewhere.
