Game Recap: Packers London Losers, 27-22
After a strong first half, the Giants would dominate the second in the Packers' 27-22 loss in London.

After a strong first half and 10-point lead, the Green Bay Packers faltered at just about every corner in the second half to lose to the New York Giants 27-22. Where to begin? The run game clearly effective in the first half was wiped out in the second half. The most egregious, after the Giants tied the game at 20, three straight incompletions and only 26 seconds coming off the clock gave the ball back to a hot Giants offense and exhausted Packers defense. The outcome? A quick touchdown by the Giants and a failure by the Packers offense and ultimately, the game. It'll be a long flight home for the guys in green. Let's breakdown the letdown in London:
Giants' WR Darius Slayton evades a tackler in the 27-22 win over the Packers.
First Quarter
On the game's first third down on the first possession, Aaron Rodgers connected with Cobb for 35 yards. Now inside Giants' territory, AJ Dillon took two carries for 7 and 5 yards, respectively, to move the chains. After a first-down throwaway, Jones took a carry for 5 and then Rodgers, facing quick pressure, was unable to connect with Jones to sustain the drive. Mason Crosby came out to nail a 46-yard field goal to give the Packers a 3-0 lead.
On the Giants' first go, league-leader Saquon Barkley took his first two carries for 6 total yards, bringing up a 3rd-and-4, where Daniel Jones was unable to connect with Barkley on a swing pass, with De'Vondre Campbell looming, forcing New York to punt it back to Green Bay.
The Pack's second drive started from their own 28, where a quick pass to Tyler Davis was stopped for a loss of 3, bringing up 2nd-and-13. After a short completion to Cobb to make third down more manageable, Rodgers hit Romeo Doubs on a screen pass to beat the blitz, but the Giants stayed home and got Doubs for a loss to bring out Pat O'Donnell to punt it away.
The Giants went back to Barkley for a short gain, then went 5-wide where Daniel Jones went deep, but not close to Barkley. After a delay of game penalty, Jones hit Barkley (sense a theme here?) on a screen pass, but Jaire Alexander like a missile took him down for a loss. Another three-and-out for the Packers defense. Amari Rodgers had the ball jarred loose on the ensuing punt return, but the Packers were able to recover.
The Packers next drive got going with a second-down connection off play action to Doubs for 22 yards and a first down at the Giants' 35. Next, was a thwarted reverse to Christian Watson for a loss of 3. Rodgers then went deep to Robert Tonyan, who drew a pass interference penalty at the 1-yard line to give Green Bay a first-and-goal. After missing on a corner route to Cobb, Rodgers hit Allen Lazard out of the slot for the game's first touchdown. Crosby nailed the kick, and it was 10-0 Packers in London.
Daniel Jones connected with Darius Slayton on first down for the Giants' first first-down of the game with a 26-yard completion. A patient Barkley took the next carry for a gain of 4, then Jones just got a pass off for a first-down completion to Daniel Bellinger. After a holding penalty on a Barkley outside run, Jones missed on a deep crosser to an open Slayton. On second down, Jones hit Marcus Johnson for 12 yards and a manageable third down. However, Saquon Barkley dropped a screen pass to force a successful Graham Gano 50-yard field goal. That would make it 10-3 Packers with seconds left in the first.
Second Quarter
Back-to-back Aaron Jones touches netted the Packers a first down to open the second. After another Jones carry, Rodgers hit Josiah Deguara, his first of the game, on a quick out for another first down. The ensuing play was a play-action pass to Deguara for 8 yards, followed by an Aaron Jones carry for the first down. A 5-yard run by Dillon preceded an Aaron Jones screen for 9 yards and another first down at the Giants' 25. After a short pass to Lazard and a foiled jet sweep to Watson, Rodgers handed to Jones on 3rd-and-4 for 8 yards and a first down. Cobb was the recipient of a quick out from Rodgers, and nearly scored. On the play, Romeo Doubs had an impressive outside block that nearly ushered Cobb into the end zone. On first down, after double play-fakes, Rodgers floated a touchdown pass to Big Dog himself, Marcedes Lewis, his first since 2020. Crosby drilled the kick, and it was 17-3 Packers.
The Giants avoided potential disaster, when Daniel Jones was sacked for a significant loss, however Rasul Douglas was called for defensive holding. After a Jones scramble, Saquon Barkley popped a 41-yard run out of wildcat, thankfully stopped by Adrian Amos and Eric Stokes at the Packers' 38. Jones then hit Slayton for another first, and quickly New York was in scoring range. Preston Smith and Jarran Reed met at the quarterback on first down, taking Jones down for a loss of 4. A screen pass was stopped on second down, and on third down Jones ripped an impressive dig route to Richie James and a conversion. After Barkley wasn't able to get very far, Jonathan Garvin batted down a Jones pass. Then Jones hit Slayton on a slant pass and a first down right at the two-minute warning. Shifting into wildcat, Barkley handed to Matt Breida on a read option for a short gain down to the 3. On a reverse, Dean Lowry neearly took down Daniel Bellinger, however missed the tackle and Bellinger was able to score. Gano hit the kick, and the Giants cut into the lead, 17-10.
With the clock ticking, Aaron Jones took the carry for a first down for 11 yards at their own 36. A quick pass to Cobb went to 8 yards, and after the Packers' first timeout, Rodgers hit Tonyan for the first down near the 50. After the team's second timeout and :43 seconds to go, Rodgers hit Cobb on a slant for 20 yards, putting the offense in field goal range. The final timeout would stop the clock with :38 seconds left. Rodgers went deep to Cobb on first down, but the pass was broken up by New York, then his second down pass went incomplete to Doubs on an out route. A pressured Rodgers dropped a pass off to Tonyan, but he was tackled in bounds with the clock running. The field goal team raced on to the field, and Crosby drilled a 48-yarder as the clock expired to give the Packers a 20-10 lead going into halftime.
Third Quarter
Starting with the ball, the Giants were sacked by Rashan Gary, however a holding penalty on Darnell Savage wiped it out. On 3rd-and-3, Jones hit Slayton for a first down, then again for another first down on the ensuing play to move the sticks yet again for New York at the Packers 36. After a couple more third down conversions, one by Jones on his legs, the drive stalled inside the Packers 10. Gano would hit a field goal to cut the lead to 20-13 Green and Gold.
The Packers' first drive of the second half was sparked by yet another Randall Cobb reception, this time for 17 yards. Rodgers went deep to Doubs which fell incomplete, however an illegal contact penalty gave the Packers 5 yards and a first down. AJ Dillon then took a handoff for 11 and a first down, then Cobb (!) for another 14 yards. After a short run to Jones and a deep incompletion to Doubs, Rodgers was sacked by Dexter Lawrence for a loss of 6, forcing the Packers to punt.
With the punt downed at the 9, Jones hit Barkley out of the backfield for no gain, leaving Barkley jogging off the field with a shoulder injury. The Giants then hit Breida on a quick pass who got 12 and a first down. On the next play, Daniel Jones took a scramble for 14 yards, with the help of a 5-yard defensive holding penalty, again on Douglas. The Packers got a nice run stuff on first down, then Marcus Johnson picked up a few to make it third-and-short. Jones connected with Bellinger over the middle to convert the first down to close out the third quarter.
Fourth Quarter
With Saquon Barkley in the locker room getting his shoulder evaluated, the Giants went to Daniel Jones and his legs, with a run of 4 and then 8 to move the chains. Now approaching the Green Bay 30, Preston Smith took down Breida for minimal gain. Rolling out, Jones hit Marcus Johnson again, this time for a gain of 16. After a short run and pass completion, it was now 3rd-and-3 for the Giants, where a frantic Jones hit David Sills to convert inside the Packers' 5. Jones was forced to throw it away on first down, and on second, Gary Brightwell earned his first career touchdown on an inside run. After Gano hit the extra point, it was all even in London at 20-20 with 10:08 to go.
Starting at their own 25, Rodgers opened up the drive with a deep pass that fell incomplete to Lazard, then another incomplete to Cobb. And on third down, Rodgers went deep to Lazard incomplete. Inexplicably, the Packers throw three straight incompletion passes, forcing a punt. The punt hit a Giants defender, but the ball harmlessly rolled out of bounds without either team being able to recover.
With the Giants with the ball again up against an exhausted Packers defense, Saquon Barkley was back out on the field for the Giants. And on second down, he made his presence felt catching a crossing route for 41 yards, followed by Matt Breida running for 11 giving the Giants a very quick 1st-and-goal. Jones would keep it on first down for a short gain (and big hit from Adrian Amos), and then out of Wildcat, Barkley took the carry down to the 1. However, an illegal formation penalty negated the run and moved them back 5 yards to the 10. A short completion to Slayton was amplified by a personal foul by Rasul Douglas down to the 2-yard-line. Saquon Barkley took the wildcat sweep and walked into the end zone to give the Giants the lead, 27-20.
After a first-down incompletion, Rodgers handed to Jones for 6. Then, hit Tonyan 14 to move the chains with just over 5 minutes to go. With the clock ticking, the Packers handed to Dillon for a short gain. And then, on second down, Rodgers hit Cobb on a screen for another first down. Aaron Jones took the ensuing carry for 8 yards, and moving with tempo, Rodgers threw to Lazard incomplete. But Rogers went right back to him, this time completing the pass for the first down at the Giants' 27. Rodgers hit Doubs on a slant for 8 with 2:30 to go, and approaching the two-minute warning, Rodgers hit Tonyan to keep the drive moving at the break.
Now at the Giants' 15, Aaron Jones took an inside handoff for 6, then again for nearly no gain. On third down, Rodgers tried to go over the middle but it was batted high into the air and nearly picked off. On 4th-and-2, game on the line, the Giants batted another Rodgers pass to all but seal the game. After going 14 plays and 69 yards, the Packers offense fell short deep in the red zone.
After the Giants punting team took a safety with only 10 seconds left, the Packers had one shot to find the end zone. From their own 41 and with only :07 seconds remaining, Rodgers was strip sacked and that would wrap it up in London.
What Went Right
After halftime, not much. The Packers seemed to have this game well in hand going into halftime, but between the defense's inability to get a stop and the offense abandoning the run game in a 20-20 game, you have to question some of the decisions made in the game by the coaching staff.
What Went Wrong
See above. Pretty much everything. All the preseason hype of the defense leaves much to be desired at this point. Unable to force turnovers or third down stops are showing us that this group isn't what it was cracked up to be.
Offensive MVP
Randall Cobb! The old fella had a day, with 7 catches for 99 yards. Many were timely, and his value to this offense can't be understated.
Defensive MVP
I'm not naming one after this game. No one did a good enough job, and thus, no one was valuable.

I ain't even mad. This team missed its window in 2020. They should never have brought the QB back this year. Should have cashed him in when the gettin was good. They'll make the playoffs, and lose quietly. Rodgers will blame other people and MLF will fall on the sword.

And not a damn word about the defensive shit show today. Where is the fantastic defense that all the top draft picks have been spent on over multiple years. No help on offensive line or WR but Rodgers is supposed to overcome all of that by himself. Joe Barry is not the answer, Packers should have hired a top DC.

Well it would be nice if he didn’t try to play hero ball every play, opt to pass on an rpo with a guy averaging 5.7 ypc next to him, or get shut out in the 2nd half. Not saying the defense isn’t at fault but the offense, Rodgers, and LaFleur are once again the ones at fault for this loss

I have no idea if Love is an NFL starting QB or not- he's got the arm, but only reps will tell- but I agree the worst case scenario is Love never plays for GB and goes elsewhere to become a productive franchise QB.
Unfortunately, if that happens, the same people who claim Love is a bust will scream and shout that the Packers brass should be fired for allowing Love to walk.
I fear that is exactly what is going to happen, however. The Packers made their deal with the devil.

If the Favre/Rogers transition is anything to go by, the vitriol aimed at Live will increase as it gets harder to deny the fact that the end is coming. It’s easier to assassinate another’s potential than to defend a hero in the face of obvious failings.
Love or not love, the proximity of the post Rodgers era will have crystallized for many after the last few games, and many won’t want to face that.

So sick of watching Rodgers throw an uncatchable ball and watch him shake his head, should have run the ball more to setup the pass. Oline was not very good today, Joe Barry my god do you know you need to make adjustments as game goes on you can't be so black and white. So much for that great defense. Daniel Jones had not thrown for 200 yards this year hello GB defense or should I say they were just what we needed. The 3 and out with 7 mins to go was all I needed they threw in the towel. Fans that paid that money for that effort holy crap.

During the offseason I really wanted GB to trade Rodgers while his value was so high coming off back 2 back MVP seasons and bring in Gardner Minshew to compete with Jordan Love and push each other and let the best QB win the job. Gute and LaFleur are both spinless pansies who cater to Rodger's every whim. They could've gotten two firsts, two seconds, and a third rounder from Denver and got him out of the NFC. He would've been happy out west with Hackett.

Ditto for me. I was on the offseason bandwagon to trade Rodgers to Denver for a boatload of picks. You sell high while you can and rebuild with a QB on his rookie contract.
At the same time, I will say this. It's October 9th. There are peaks and valleys throughout any season, and this loss is a low point. The warning signs were there last Sunday when Bailey-freaking-Zappe, a rookie 3rd string QB nearly led his team to a win in Lambeau. There still is time to right the ship, but for whatever reason, this team can't put together 4 quarters of disciplined football, whether it's coaching or the players executing.

Can't trade Aaron when it would expose your 2020 1st and 4th round picks as a potential bust.
The risk averse Packer organization is going to ride Aaron's coattails until they can.
There is nothing pro-active about this team.
Look for a lot of propaganda pieces upcoming about how the Pack can still win the NFC North as if that were something to bet excited about and also about how the young talent is just about to take off.
Another year, another season ending short of a SB.

It’s sad to be proved right, the more so when it seemed so clearly the most probable outcome and we gave up picks and so much future cap for the privilege.
This was a season too far premised on a willful refusal to face reality. We could face that now, but we won’t. LaFkeur should not be a head coach. Rodgers is no more omnipotent than Adams and he will not face the reality that his only potential saviors are the rookies he avoids and giving the ball to runners.

As you possibly remember, Bearmeat, I was right there with you. We would be no worse with Love, and possibly much better. Murphy, IMO, bears the blame for this. In other news, MLF's refusal/failure to make in-game adjustments just threw fuel on the dumpster fire the second half became. AGAIN.
Coldworld is right in the MLF is not a great coach. But can you imagine Murphy firing him with his record? We. Are. Heading. For. The. 80s.

This team will either come together or it will fall apart. Blaming it all Rodgers is no better than blaming none of it on Rodgers. Neither would be true.
Rodgers has certainly not been accurate, and has not played anywhere near the level we expect. This is definitely on him. However, there are many facets of this game that were equally bad. To place it all in one person is nonsense.
I get that you were against bringing Rodgers back (as many in here were), but that decision has been made, and rehashing "I told you so's" is completely counterproductive.
This TEAM was always going to go through growing pains. It's week 5. If this is the final product, I will tip my hat and say you were correct . In the meantime I'll ride it out.

So, you basically say that we should not talk about obvious bad smell and disfunctional organization. We should be happy wth the status and enjoy it. We should enjoy to see one or two good drives per game and be happy with what we see on the field.
If we express what we are not satisfied with, that is completely counterproductive. Counterproductive to whom or to what?
I do not have any illusion that Mike Murphy, MLF, or Aaron Rodgers read what we are writing here (well, MLF might read this instead of preparing team for the game). I'm tired of MLF statement like "we were not prepared well for the game, and we are all responsible, first me" or Diva's "I did not play well, but it will be better and missing playing in the preseason is not problem here". I especially likes MLF statement "you have to give credit to (fill the name of any team here) they prepared well for the game vs us".
So, can you explain me what accountability means, because Diva always talk about it and never is prepared to take responsibility for his attitude and showing on the field.
In his post game interview he claimed that those 3 errant passes was called from MLF and add that he liked the calls. But those calls weren't execute properly"! It smells like throwing under the bus somebody else to justify himself from his mistakes.
Ha. Maybe this way of thinking is counterproductive, don'n you think?

Croat, nothing in my post suggests we should not be critical of this team. My point is we should be critical of this TEAM, not just the individuals we may have a personal disdain for. There was plenty of blame to go around and Rodgers certainly deserves his "share" of that blame.

I say they should have done this two years ago, adams to, rebuild quickly with a ton of first and second and thirds . Hebert, burrows, Rodgers isn't the only one who can play qb. Missed opportunity

Their are 4 steps to team building. Not just on the field but in the locker room. 1 Forming. Especially with new player as they get to know each other. 2. Storming. Many things seem to go wrong on the field while "disagreements in the locker rome escalate. 3. Norming. The kinks are worked out and things are moving in the right direction. 4. Performing. The team is kicking at maximum performance level. Now, with many new players, the Pack is struggling in stage 2. Stage 3 is soon to come and lookout for stage4 because that's the kick ass stage. Beware however, if significant new players are added, they will return to stage 2 for awhile. ( Can you say Josh Harder?)

Time to clean house. If Gutey has a backbone, he will fire MLF and Barry and cut Rodgers. I think we should start trading our older players with big contracts (D-Bak, Aaron Jones) for future draft picks and build around Love. That will put us in the best position to win a SB in the future.
As for the defense, it doesn't matter how talented you are (the Packers are pretty talented) if your coaching is bad. D-backs looked lost on the field. On the opposite side, we see Wink Martindale and Brian Daboll elevating sub-par units b/c they're actually good at their jobs. We should only keep Bissacia - he's done a very excellent job.
As a Huskers fan, this reminds me of before Scott Frost and out DC were fired - lots of talented transfers, but bad coaching makes us bad. Mickey Joseph and Bill Busch are actually doing a decent job now.

Gute has a backbone, he drafted Love and started making plans to move on from an aging Aaron Rodgers who wasn't taking coaching from the brand-new coaching staff. That's one hell of a back bone.
The problem is that direction was abruptly changed after last year's off season stand off.
GM's don't change course like that. Someone higher up made an executive decision. The Packers board decided that the long-term financial impact of keeping a happy Rodgers-Packers relationship was more important than the immediate health of the team.
In other words, Rodgers being on good terms with the Packers through retirement means selling ROdgers jerseys for the next 30 years. It means Rodgers making public appearances at the Packers HOF. All that stuff. It means the Board of Directors told the GM we're re-signing Rodgers and that's that. I don't think it was Murphy. Murphy was there for the Favre drama, as was Gutekunst, so I suspect both of them learned that you can stick by your guns in the face of a Diva HOF QB and still come out the other side better for it in the long run..
I truly believe the BoD got involved in football matters. Gute already showed he's willing to stiffen the backbone. Don't know why that would have changed.

Murphy came straight out and said we weren’t dumb and would retain Rodgers, backed up by LaFleur. Personally, I think Gute knew that was likely foolish—just look at the roster—but Murphy wanted to go out with Rodgers and that changed the tide.
Murphy brought us LaFkeur to save us from his failures in TTs twilight, when the roster went to Swiss cheese. We now see that LaFleur can’t our coach anyone and has just ridden the coat tails of Rodgers and Adams. Without them he’s no plan to incorporate or change. A huge bust.

Lets not throw the baby out with the bath water. I don't think the Pack needs to clean house totally but needs to make some short term and long term changes:
Short Term -
1. Fire/leave Amari Rodgers and Joe Barry in the UK. Jerry Gray should be on a VERY short leash as well. Rich B may be a great Barry replacement!
2. Get MLF to stick to the ground game when in doubt. If Rodgers is circumventing these calls, discipline/ bench him from doing so.
3. If you're never going to throw to C Watson, then don't play him.
4. Put your BEST OL men out there. Bakh back to injured reserve. Jenkins to guard ASAP.
Long Term
1. Get Mark Murphy out of GB Mgt ASAP. He's a complacent dinosaur.
2. Move on from Rodgers and Bakh at end of season.
3. Rebuild with Love.

Agreed...I tried to find optimism that the Packers could turn it around and win the SB, but after today, I think the best path is to re-build around love. Rodgers is washed and Barry and MLF are stupid. Gutey is too, if he doesn't fire him. Honestly I'd feel better with Bisaccia coaching this team than MLF - we saw what he did with a crappy Raiders roster last year

I thought in the off season that we had a golden opportunity to trade Rodgers to Denver and start the inevitable shift while not increasingly burdening our cap. I thought that there was a better than 80% chance that not doing so would look ugly by November.
We have our cap mortgaged, no draft picks and we’ve shown that neither our HC or our QB have faced up to the reality of this roster, let alone grasped it and come up with a plan. We did NT need to wait until November to see that we just gave up a boatload for a ship already sailed and a captain with no clue how to tell his stem from his stern.
Murphy gave us LaFleur to fix his sleeping in the job during TT’s decline. Murphy has stated repeatedly that we are tied to Rodgers. I believe Murphy is the real architect of this shot show this year as the backer of the empty vessel HC and Rodgers extension.

We can get some draft capital, though, if we trade players like Aaron Jones and David Bakhtiari while we can (both are aging). Send Rodgers back to South America - he looks washed. Spend a few years in cap hell while developing Love and THEN it's time to contend for a SB. As far as a new head coach, I really like Ejiro Evero, the DC of the Broncos. My 2nd best preference would be Ben Johnson, the Lions' OC

We should have treated Watson as the extra receiver. A guy to run gadget plays initially. We should have run Toure or even Winfree to just make routine plays. Watson is raw! He’s also got great talent, but he missed all of camp too. Of course Love found him for 24 yards almost immediately.
This coach has no plan and his QB is deluded. More Cobb, perhaps we need to think about just running it more. Cobb played well, but the concepts Rodgers enunciated just show that he and LaFleur are living in an altered reality.

Maybe it's the QB who has full control at the LOS, the guy who has been asked about running the ball more in numerous press conferences and always says he believes the RBs need to be "more involved" in the game plan, or they need "more touches", but never says they need to RUN the ball more, or that he thinks he needs to HAND OFF the ball more.
Rodgers wants to get RBs more involved in Pass Pro, he wants to throw the ball to the RBs.. He doesn't want to RUN the ball more.

As bad as they played in the second half a TD on last drive, not counting the one with only 7 seconds to go, ties the game. Terrible play calling on the drive inside the ten. Horrible coaching.
Also, when are the coaches going to realize time outs are precious. Could have gotten the ball back with just about a minute to go if they did not waste, as they always do, time outs for play clock running down.
Just awful performance.

Aaron Choker Rodgers are the main culprit here. Not for the whole situation, but for causing that situation.
Why many posters here thinks that other teams DC or HC are stupid? Aaron Choker Rodgers is playing 15+ year in this NFL. And, he is the slave of his habits. That is well known amongst the league. They knows that DIva, with the game on the line will throw only to his trusted targets. You want the proof? Last season playoff loss to 49. They even do not bothered to cover any other player except Davante. They knew that last pass will go to Davante and they prevented it. Or year ago vs Bucs? Same thing.
As Giants knew that he will use either of his 2 targets at the end - Randall Cobb or Allen Lazard. On 3rd and 2 they closed the throwing line to Cobb at DL and A Choker R still try to push the pass through human body. On 4th and 2 he tried to threw to Lazard. After they noticed where Allen Lazard is, two defenders (OLB and ILB) jumped to cover that passing line in front of ACR, aka Diva and he tried to push the ball through 4 arms in front of him.
What is the result. He is predictable, as Packers play calling are. Or maybe Diva, under the influence of ayahuasca thought that matter does not exist, that everything is energy and the ball will go through. Who knows.
You know what is tragical? I'm probably the least educated fan among you about football (and about tactics and play calling and routes and D or O formations etc.) and yet I recognize 90 percent of the plays called by the Packers. What do you think that opponent defenders are less educated than me?

Obviously, "Sleepy Joe" Barry left his brain in Green Bay (if he even had one to begin with). There is no other explanation for how this D is so bad with such good players. He needs to go. I tried to look on the bright side, but this game was the last straw.

Giants tied the game. 4th Qtr. I am thinking hey Giants have a number of injuries. Just run the offense. What do the Packers do? Three long incompletions that had ZERO chance. NONE.
WTF kind of play calling was that? Was that LaFleur or Rodgers? To boot the next time they got the ball the first play was another long incomplete pass. You would think they would have gotten together and went back to the plan. Nope.
Then on 3 and 2 why not pound the ball with Dillon? Two batted down passes. Why just why? That was horrible.

He had neither and with his cap hit, it was pretty clear he was not getting the tools from elsewhere except in the draft. I said at the time, Rodgers could get it done elsewhere with a different roster in theory. Ours is Bourne down by the cap we’ve already committed to giving him the last two shots and now to keeping him this year.

This is a bad loss for the Packers and there is literally no excuse for losing this game.

The Packers had reduced the Giants offense to a high school level with their Wildcat and QB draws and the Packers couldn’t stop them.
Why can the Packers play only one half of football?
We lost at least 2 sacks to defensive holding penalties, that’s just beating themselves. Douglas was a penalty machine. Then Barkley goes out of the game and we can’t stop the Giants anyway. Why are we allowing the QB to run all over the field. How is Barry using Walker? Why isn’t he providing an inside blitz and why isn’t the spy on the QB?
The offense looked pretty good in the first half but then stopped running the ball in the 2nd half, why? Then we drive down the field in the 4th qtr and we have 3rd and 2 to go for first and goal. So we attempt 2 passes that are batted down with Dillon on the field? Why? Hand the ball to Dillon and let him pound for the first goal with 2 downs. Totally stupid!!!???
Why is it that Giants young receivers know what to do and our guys are all over field? What are our coaches doing?
Yet again, MLF and his staff are totally out coached by a rookie HC and his staff. Terrible job.
Our STs were actually the best phase of the game for the Packers.

I think the blame has to be placed squarely on the QBs shoulders - most of the second half NYG had only 5 players within 3 yards of the line and he continued to air it out. The successive batted down passes to end the game summed it up pretty well - hand the ball to 28 or 33 and let them run it in!!!
No help from the NFL - it appears 29 had a big red X on his back after comments about not liking playing overseas and the inconsistent calls in the DB were madding. Heck it took them ten minutes to get sideline call to Cobb right which destroyed the momentum that had been built up.
What happened to making DBs look for the ball? three times they just drove GB receivers away from going for the ball without even looking for it .... called once and it took a long explanation by announcers about how they were allowing more leeway but all three were obvious calls!
NFL wants a winning team in NY in the worst way and it is apparent they are gonna go to great lengths to make that happen.

I also counted and had seen multiple holds to Gary and Preston…the blatant no calls were infuriating. I’ve seen more arms around Gary’s and Preston’s necks than i can count. Our DL and ends are getting tackled and held by opposing OL while making penetration and officiating just keeps letting it happen. It’s almost unwatchable

You know, this game today just lokks me like there is no love in locker room. I believe many players are looking washed ego-maniac who got $200 mill contract how making their jobs utterly much harder and, when you are exhausted it is easy to get seriously injured.
First half D looks to me OK. And that lasted while offense was doing their job and let them rest enough.
Second half offense brought stupid plan by throwing more and D just say - we are not at the same board. You'll lose this game. That thought came to my mind during Barkley first 55 yards run, when I saw Jaire blocking his guy with no interest to get involved in stopping Barkley. For me, it looks like he "is doing his job" and do not care about the rest. That is so called silent strike.
I believe this team are falling apart, because you have the "smartest" guy in locker room who keep everybody accountable except himself. And he is getting $50 mill per year for rookie performance.
I hope I'm wrong, but it may become ugly if I'm not.

I don't normally miss Packers games, but glad I missed this one. It's a beautiful day in NE Wisconsin with the fall colors. Got back after some apple picking and a corn maze and told my wife "I bet they choked today, the defense isn't as good as advertised." I walk in and see the final score of 22-27 and just shake my head.
I appreciate the detailed recap, watching the highlights was even more painful though. This team is so Jekyl-and-Hyde from half to half. Which team will show up? The failure of the coaching staff to make in-game adjustments week in and week out is mind boggling. Joe Barry's secondary was fully healthy and he was facing arguably one of the weakest WR groups in the NFL, and they couldn't handle it because Douglas was a penalty machine?
There are no excuses. The Packers now get the Jets who have a LOT more weapons than this Giants squad. They could very well be 3-3 this time next week if they can't get out of their own way.
