I wonder if lafleur calls a pass heavy game today considering they seem to be approaching this game as a get right game/keep everyone healthy game. Let love loose a bit, cus that's our only shot to win it all. Also, chandon Sullivan is a free agent, just sitting out there. He's 28 and had a solid year for Pittsburgh last year. He can be an upgrade over Bullard in obvious passing downs... Why not at least work the guy out?

Energy drinks increase your heart attack risk within 90 minutes of consumption
by: Dena Schmidt, staff writer | December 25, 2024
Most people reach for a cup of coffee to increase their energy levels. However, in recent years, energy drinks have become the pick-me-up of choice, especially among younger people.
But here’s the warning: Researchers have found that these high-caffeine, high-sugar beverages negatively impact heart health.
In fact, within just 90 minutes of having one of these drinks, blood vessels can constrict dramatically – by as much as half in some cases. This reduces the blood supply and nutrients to the body’s organs and inhibits their function.
How energy drinks put a squeeze on our blood circulation
Keep in mind: blood flow constriction to the heart increases the risk of both heart attacks and stroke. And that’s exactly what happens when you drink these beverages. In addition, their high sugar content raises blood glucose levels – which can cause (or make worse) metabolic disorders like diabetes and prediabetes.
In one study, the researchers examined 44 college students from the McGovern Medical School at UT Health. All participants were non-smokers, in their 20s, and generally ‘healthy.’ Since the subjects were young, they all had strong endothelium, the layer lining the inner walls of blood vessels. Endothelium integrity is crucial to heart health.
Now, for the shocking results: the effect of energy drinks on otherwise normal endothelium was measured using ultrasound before and after consuming a 24-oz. energy drink. Ninety minutes after consuming the drink, endothelial function was tested for vessel diameter and arterial blood flow.
How perfectly good blood vessels get damaged by just ONE drink
After just 90 minutes, the artery’s inner diameter was reduced by half – from 5.1 percent to around 2.8 percent on average. The researchers believe this effect is due to the high levels of caffeine, sugar, taurine, and many other stimulating ingredients.
As agitating as too much caffeine can be, the researchers believe it’s the high sugar content of these drinks that is the biggest culprit of severe blood vessel constriction. A drink like Red Bull contains 37 grams of sugar – equivalent to over NINE TEASPOONS.
However, caffeine is also a factor, causing the body to release adrenaline rapidly. Each 250-ml drink contains around 80 mg of caffeine, which is 2.5 times the amount in a can of soda.
Editor’s note: This article should be considered a ‘red alert’ for young athletes. Don’t combine your high-intensity training with these drinks. The result could be a deadly heart attack. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health estimates that around one-third of teenagers aged 12 to 17 consume these high-caffeine sugary drinks regularly.

Prediction 1: Packers win, but it's closer and sloppier than we'd like and they don't get starters out and get as many reserves game snaps as we'd hope. We'll spend another week hearing the "not good enough" talk and the gnashing of teeth.
Prediction 2: Dallas surprises Washington and the Packers go to Los Angeles next week.
Prediction 3: Packers get out of today without any additional significant injuries.

Regardless of records, these two teams always engage in a knock-down-drag-out-back-alley-bare-knuckle-brawl. This one reminds me of the 1931 game when Piano Legs Radcliffe scored with 10 seconds remaining to give the Bears a 7-0 win.

when your secondary can't cover a baby crib with a king size sheet, why in the hell would you ever even think about only rushing 3, i would think of sending 7 before i would ever send just 3. you give ANY quarterback that much time and they're bound to either connect or get a PI call. never ever believed in only rushing 3

its not about where we were going to be playing next week, it's about beating a team you should have been able to beat. a team you were a 10 point favorite to beat. TERRIBLE COACHING JOB. for the first time i'm starting to believe LaFluer will not be able to ever get us to the super bowl. i'm convinced he has hurt Jordan Love by prioritizing NO interceptions. now he has to do to much thinking before throwing and can't do it.

Couldn't have a worst ending. That horse collar tackle killed us.
Addition: I was watching the Washington/Dallas game and with the Cowboys ahead with seconds to go, I counted it as a win for Dallas. However, the Cowboys played like they have most of this season and managed to give the game to the Commanders even when only seconds were left and I had turned the game off. I'm actually glad for that since it lessened to impact of the Packers losing since it would have made no difference for the Packers who would be the 7th seed regardless of the outcome of our game.

Get McManus signed up for next season.
That horse collar was epic dumbassery and totally unnecessary.
Put to bed the legend that Green Bay wants these home games in the cold at Lambeau. They sucked in the cold and were not well prepared to play this game.
Put to bed the youngest team in the NFL statistic as well. Of the ten youngest teams the list includes: Lions, Chiefs, Eagles, Chargers, Bucs, and Rams. That one is getting tired and old. You're not talking about years of difference between these teams. Have them prepared.

All of the players hate playing in the cold, and certainly the Packers aren't exempt. It's about time Packer fans and the Packer front office come to grips with losing too many games in frigid weather. It's nonsense to believe it's a good atmosphere for a football gme. When they put all then money into stadium renovation, it should have included a retractable roof.

MLF and Love are not going to get the Packers to any Super Bowl anytime soon...I would say in a couple of years both may be gone, especially MLF...I'd fire him today and get Vrabel or Johnson...open the wallet...but of course thats not happening in the real world..MLF has his fanboys and they have all the excuses ready, especially the good old "young team, young qb, blah blah"....MLF and Love are never ready to open a game in the first quarter, today Love looked like crap, frozen crap at that...4th and 3 and MLF goes end around, his fav trick play for a loss...cute stuff...what is a fact is 1 and 5 in division play and thats on a lucky field goal block...disgusting ....1-5....

I love football and watch a lot of it on TV. Why do the Packers have what seems like the worst long snapper I've seen? That punter we have has saved the day on errant snaps on field goals throughout the season and the job he did yesterday on that snap that on the punt deep in our territory that went well over his head was nothing short of marvelous.
