Good: Playing the starters. Especially AR. Keeps them engaged and sharp with the bye coming. I know 2011 had extenuating circumstances, but one take away is that 3 weeks off is a bad idea.

Bad: Jordan Love. It is clear 2 years in that he is not ready for prime time.

Ugly: Getting tricked twice on similar trick plays for touchdowns. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Bad? he had a 125 QBR and a led 2 TD scoring drives. Then he had Amari Rodgers drop a pass for an INT, and then he had a backup RB Taylor blow his assignment and got crushed with a pass rush. Look, he wasnt fabulous, but he didnt suck. Not close.

He finished with a 64 rating vs. the second worst team in the league. The difference between good and bad play at the quarterback position is subtle and small, but the results are not.

The first interception was a ball tipped twice. The 2nd one was desperation time under pressure. That pretty much destroys your rating. I wasn't impressed, but he was not terrible.

You can't make a fair judgment until the guy has played for a year or two. He's far from ready, but really has hardly played, missed OTA's as a Rookie due to covid shutdowns. He was playing without Devante. The bottom line is will his accuracy improve, he seems to have the tools but showed inconsistency in accuracy in college and so far in the NFL.

Well, for the sake of truth, HOF QB put only 13 points on the board for one half of the game. That guy, newbie QB put at same span (half of the game) 17 points on the board. Yes, that guy had 2 INT, but both were excusable for the circumstances. Also, newbie QB played with 2nd & 3rd string WR crew. He also put (obviously) lot of confidence in our best TE (Old Dog) but result was sack. He had nice throws and not so nice ones, but that is expected for newbie QB in the NFL.

Do I say he is better than HOF QB? Not in the craziest dreams, but he played well under the circumstances. Is he ready for winning the division next year? I doubt. Does he has possibilities to be much better than average QB in the NFL? Surely, he has! Will he be that kind of QB? Only time will tell.

My judgement of his second half presentation is that there is obvious improvement in comparation to the game at KC in 2 aspects: 1. he was more comfortable in the pocket and has command over the offense; 2. he reads defenses better than he did at KC. But, he still have a lot to learn.

The Good: The 2 point conversion. Jordan Love's legs

The Bad: 2 Touchdown drops: TE Davis crossing pattern drop n the end zone and the under throw by Jordan Love to ESB (leads him and its a TD)

The Ugly: Not having DeVondre Campbell on the field.

What can you say? Rodgers didn’t get hurt or hurt his MVP chances. Love with the game on the line with the pick! Taylor scoring his first TD AND getting the Aaron Jones glasses treatment! Now on to the playoffs.

A. Jones placed his sun glasses on him after his touchdown, just like A. Jones dons his after a TD. Sort of an "anointing" of the young man by the star RB.

Good: Backup RB Taylor had some good, hard runs. We got Bak and Myers in to get the rust off. AR, the MVP

Bad: Love was not good, his short passes and handoffs were as basic as you can get. He finally threw the ball downfield, and was intercepted twice?

Ugly: Savage, I never see this guy make a play. He consistently rates at the bottom on defensive grades. Burks was no better, but he is a backup.

I think Love did exactly what he was asked to do (aside from the INT on the last drive). They were asking him to just run offense...certainly they ran the ball much more than they ever would have with #12 in the lineup. I don't think they were asking Love to do more than basic calls at the LOS. This felt like preseason offense, and he was fine running it.

Good - Josh Deguara td catch and run.
Bad - Poor defensive effort from Oren Burkes and K King
Ugly - Officiating, the lions were getting away with holding & pass interference

This was the LIONS super Bowl. Time to move on to the playoffs. One concern for me Packers defense. Will this be another repeat of last years playoffs...? Stay Tuned - GPG.

The good: The Lions coach, he knows how to get his team ready to play 60 minutes. When's the last time the Packers did that?
The Bad: The Defense!
The Ugly: The Defense!
The Really, Really Ugly: The Defense! With all the high round picks in the defensive backfield why can't they cover or tackle? Gotta be scheme, coaching, a bad system, or maybe all of the above! Savage looked like he was afraid to hit somebody, all day, and he had to run forward ten yards just to get close enough to miss!
It's about time we see what MLF is made of, someone's head should roll.

dekan51,
Show me where I "dissed" Lafleur.
I don't know how much of the Lions you've seen this year, but I was simply stating a fact, Campbell had them ready every game in the 6-8 games I saw. It's not Campbell's fault he inherited a shit team with very little talent, but to his credit he gets them playing. In their last 6 games they're 3-3.

Try this;
Eric Stokes, 1st round
Darnell Savage, 1st round
Adrian Amos, 5th round by the Bears (and a targeted F/A by GB)
Kevin King, 2nd round (when TT decided to pass on T. J. Watt and trade back)
And you're happy with their performance? I'm Not! The fact that every other team had them rated as top draft picks would suggest that there's talent there that's not being used, and could suggest a lack of proper coaching?
I left Alexander out cuz he's injured, but if you think his return will be a fix-all, I can only hope that you're right. Watch the tape on Tramon Williams before and after his shoulder injury, and then tell me he was the same guy.
I think LaFleur is a great coach, but I'm also sick of the so-called 'Bend but Don't Break" defenses we've been fielding for 10+ years and have cost us championships.
Like I said, we'll soon see what MLF is made of. Does he suffer from the McCarthy-ism of too much loyalty to poor assistant coaches, or does he clearly see the weak spots and fix them?

The Good: We have more exploitation to make sure we are assignment sure. We are not there yet. That is for sure. Good to see Myers and Bak finally on the field. Would have been nice for JA to show he is not covered in rust. Well we have another week to work on the hardest team we are always up against...our self. A lot of hotly contested games and a few let downs. I hope MVS is ok. He has not been effective for 2-3 games. Probably should have been sitting on IR. GPG

Another great regular season but this team is on track to be one and done in the playoffs. Again.

You need to look at who the team is playing. For instance TB blew out a shitty Carolina team two of the last 4 games. Against the Saints they Lost and didn’t score and against the lowly Jets they barely won. That’s their last 4 games, hardly dominate.

Doesn't matter, Buc's offense execution is fluid, precise, dominant and they play hungry and jacked up no matter who they are playing. That's the difference between coach Ariens and our coach.....passive eyebrow tweezing cheer leader vs scruffy , tough , confident disciplinarian. Don't get me wrong I really like our coach but this is playoff football baby and in the playoffs, it's who punches who in the face first the hardest and then sustains their focus throughout the game. Pack haven't shown that in playoffs.... It is not their personality and that's why they have a hard time winning more than a playoff game for the last 10 years. You need those seasoned vets on your defense to instill that toughness and that quiet, confident bulldog tenacity in the young players. Buc's have those players and mindset.
Packers have the talent for sure but not the mindset, focus discipline. Now what we do have going for us is 0° weather at Lambeau field. That changes dynamics and a more slippery field will slow down the Bucks pass rush because you know they will be coming and coming hard after Rogers especially if we fall behind early like we have a bad habit of doing.
You can't flip a switch in the playoffs you run what you brung and you better bring hunger and tenacity. Packers should bring in retired players from 1996 SB team to give speeches to the players in the locker room before they play.

"This game just might have cost MLF coach of the year."

So...when he's unapologetically playing the bottom of his roster in the second half to save his high-profile players from injury and those 2nd and 3rd stringers can't stop a first string Detroit offense? What did you expect to happen?

You're saying, essentially, that the choice to not reinsert higher-profile players to protect that lead--you know, the lead they rallied from 11 points down to take--in a meaningless game with the #1 seed locked up, is going to negate all the other things he did this season? You're on something, and it's not good.

If LaF doesn't win coach of the year, it's because he wasn't going to win it, anyway.

We have two weeks off and are as healthy as we've been in 10 weeks. Playoff game in Lambeau, likely against a warm weather team. There is plenty to be optimistic about. Just have Covid stay away. I'm old enough to have watched every Packers Super Bowl win, I want to see another one.

It would've been nice to see Bakh and Myers sticking it to the Lions a little more, but that wasn't the objective. They needed to get their legs under them.

The run game perked up when the Packers went to the OL line up that played the last 8+ weeks, but my guess is that's to be expected. Hopefully they get it squared away for the divisional round and kick some ass.

New Category.... The Beautiful...Just 12 more quarters!!

The Good... Seeing David Bakhtiari and Josh Meyers out there. I was a little surprised they went with Patrick at LG instead of Newman. Not a good or bad thing, just surprised a bit.

Dillon and Taylor... Both ran the ball well today and I CAN'T WAIT to watch Dillon running at Lambeau in the Playoffs. Getting run over by that dude in minus degree temperatures isn't going to be fun for opposing defenses but it sure will fun to watch.

The bad...MVS with a back injury and Sullivan...BUT if Alexander is back it might make it easier to put your best 3 out there which is Alexander, Stokes, and Douglass. OH SHIT...If Sully is out does that mean more Kevin King?

The Ugly... Well, maybe not "Ugly" but DAMN losing to Detroit sucks even though you looked AND played like you didn't give a shit.

Patrick was the better C yesterday. Of course, Myers was rusty, so leeway is called for, but Myers is not an obvious upgrade this year. In addition, Newman has been much better in the last 6 weeks so it’s not as clear cut I believe.

It’s interesting, with Nijman and Kelly we have much better run blocking than we do with Bakh and Turner. We will likely see Bakh and Turner back, health and stamina permitting. That won’t help the ground game though. Meyers probably does but not Patrick over Newman. This time of year at Lambeau, that could be an issue.

I would say it this way: Patrick, playing between Turner and Linsley last season was a more effective player than playing C between Runyan and Newman this season. We'll see how Patrick holds up playing between Myers and Turner (or Kelly). We might very well see Newman out there at RG in two weeks.

I agree in that the Packers won't have to worry about facing both TB and Dallas in this post-season. Can't face either in the divisional round and one will have to eat the other to get to the NFCCG. Neither AZ nor the Rams is playing great football right now and the winner is a good matchup for the Packers in the divisional round if it falls out that way.

I think Tampa will roll Philly hard. Philly has been crap against any team at or above .500 this season and TB has the LBs to neutralize Hurts' legs. I think that game will be over at half.

The good: D-Bakh is back and looked very good, Dillon and Taylor looked good, Adams and Lazard put on a clinic, even Deguara looked pretty good, of course Rodgers too.

The bad: Receivers did not create much separation, run blocking was hit and miss, seemed like the backs went 10 yards or 0, the vulnerability of the defense defending trick plays was on full display, Jordan love had EQ wide open and completely missed him, flat routes that go nowhere, especially when it's to a TE facing press coverage. Seen about 15 too many of those and I thought we left them in 2018. Lastly, a loss to a division opponent in a close game right before the playoffs. Not the end of the world, but still stinks.

The ugly: The entire defensive performance. Absolutely no communication in the secondary as people were running free all night and 2-3 guys ended up following one receiver leaving another uncovered on multiple occasions, little resistance in the run game and not nearly enough pressure on Goff. Amari Rodgers with another gaff, he didn't muff a punt today but made a boneheaded decision to run the ball out of the endzone 4 yards deep and barely made it to the 20, then mishandled a poorly thrown and tipped ball late in the game that went straight to the other team. He has got to be better if he wants to keep playing, so far he's shown nothing to cement his draft status.

Overall: lots of good and lots of bad to take away from this game. Sad we couldn't come away with a win but on to the next week!

Good - ONLY 1 injury.
Bad - Crosby missing again.
Bahk tired after half. Not unexpected, but I was hoping that he would have been working on his stamina since his recovery got extended.
Ugly - at the risk of ticking off the hosts - PackerAaron for saying that Love's play doesn't mean anything. That is true for most of the other players that didn't want to risk injury. But for Love, this was an important game. Love did have some good throws. But the overthrow to end the game was a bit ugly.

The good- Packers haven't lost back-to-back games in the LaFlure era. LaFlure showed some grit in his post game conference. He voiced his being pissed they lost, that the Packers are all about winning. That standard is high for whomever steps on the field to perform. Hope he translates that to the players. Good or bad, Love showed more of his game. Decisions have to be made there soon. Apparently, came out of the game with no big injuries.
The Bad- The game wasn't televised in my area so couldn't watch it. Some I'm glad I didn't but still the first time all year I was unable to watch them play.
The Ugly- I will trust what everyone says and say the defense. The D and ST will be key in the playoffs.

Good:
** 2 weeks in a row with NO special teams meltdown
** We now have confirmation, Jorden Love's question mark has been answered.

Bad:
**Savage looked like a 4 year old girl chasing a butterfly.
** It was learned early the Lions were bringing the house and yet Defense did nothing to mitigate. Embarrassing.
** Now that we have confirmation that the Love luster was an illusion and borderline delusional we can move on, he was lost in this game, he's not ready and has nothing. Most of us now see it but so does everyone else around the league and his trade value is now less than a half can of stale beer. Tell me again why we traded up for this?

Ugly:
Every Putz commentator or blog commenter actually believing this was a real game loss to the Lions when they fail to identify we pulled out at the half and put the throw-backs in.
This loss should be noted with an asterisk *.

The Wrap:
The play of this game and loss was highly predictable even though us Homers actually believed we would win and some even thought we'd win big. Mr. Barry had better burn some night oil and get the Defense back in the game or .... well you know the rest. He has a big hill to overcome and straighten out.

The only Packer this game meant anything to was Love (Adams too for a few yds). The rest just played to stay loose but mostly not get injured. So it was a very meaningless game.

Love wasn't terrible but not turning any heads for a trade either. Jury is still out.

The good, Dillon who should not have gone more then one series is ok.
The Bad, our receivers arent running away from anyone. Lizard looked slow, Adams was blankted on long plays, MVS non existant while he played and St brown, have no freekin idea why he is on the field.
Ugly: Only one game left this year at home. When Goef can look all pro against our secondary and the pass rush is barely effective, whatever team comes in will beat us and Rodgers cant overcome it. Ditto last year with Tampa. No secondary no pass rush.

The Good: The offense successfully began testing its new upgrades. Davante getting his well deserved stats. Rodgers cementing his MVP case.

The Bad: As painful as it is to realize, or at the very least contemplate, Jordan Love has fallen WAY short of expectations. Fingers crossed, but I think he's a future journeyman back up and a poor reach of a #1 draft pick.

The Ugly: Beautifully, there is no ugly when the #1 seed was wrapped up a week ago.

"Jordan Love has fallen WAY short of expectations"

The only question is: WHOSE EXPECTATION?

Yours? Ridiculous...

"WHOSE EXPECTATION" was I suggesting Love has fallen short of? How about the Green Bay Packers'? If you trade up in the first round to draft a QB who they clearly planned to be the eventual replacement for Aaron Rodgers, I would say the expectations were rather high. What's so "ridiculous" about that?

What is your take on Love, Croatpackfan?

I wish I could say otherwise, but I've yet to see even a hint of a "wow factor." He seems to be capable of making the routine throws, has good wheels and a decent arm, but lacks accuracy on the deep ball, and is prone to turnovers. Perhaps he will benefit from some seasoning, and I doubt the Packers will give up prematurely on such a high and important draft pick, but the early returns are not promising. I sincerely hope I am proven wrong!

The Good: It was great to see Bakhtiari and Myers out there.

The Bad: MVS and Sullivan leaving the game with injuries.

The Ugly: D getting burned on trick plays.

I agree on the trick plays. Inexperience from some, lack of focus from others and a lack of preparation for a trick play team. Cant absolve Grey for that completely. That said, it’s a good time to learn that the hard way.

A point of calm.
Some say Jordan does not look like a 1st round draft pick: That means nothing! It does not matter what round your are drafted in people please understand that!. The Packers took him in the first round, that doesn't mean he was a 1st round talent. With that being said, Jordan love showed skill last night. He made some good passes, good decisions and some bad ones. Processing the defense is something he will have to improve on, release time as well. For the most part, he was accurate last night. His quick pass games was good, he is good on his feet. But still, he has had one NFL start and three total appearances. There work to be done, but I think they have a great foundation to work with. Please be patient people.

The Defense: They need to run killers for the entrie practice this week, including Joe Barry because they were not on the same page and that CANNOT happen again. They need to be prepared for everything.

Man, reading these comments is like being on a Vikings or Bears board - we have the usual suspect whiners, but there seem to be a lot of newbies here trashing OUR NUMBER ONE SEED team. Maybe all you newbies need to GTFOH and crawl back under your bridges. If the Packers suck as bad you all say, then we should be 4-13. We're not, so gee, maybe we just don't suck, eh? You think so? Idiots.

I, too, wasn't particularly happy with what I saw yesterday during the first half, but I doubt that the defensive shits and giggles we saw will apply to the next game. OTOH, if the D comes out flat again, then yes, we could be one-and-done. But I will NOT trash my team. Stockholder, ImaPayne, Crankbait and the rest of you Chicken Littles, get a grip and maybe do some game and situational analysis before blathering away.

You still make false accusations. Rogers is on your Team. He's the QB of your Team. You started throwing the Bull shit first. Instead of looking for the rainbow. You only see the storm. .

I said nothing about Rodgers (you, of all posters, should know how to spell his effing name!) in this post and, in fact, have been complimentary about AR's professionalism regarding his team-first attitude this season. I threw no bullshit, unlike about 80% of your posts.
