The good: I’ll agree with Tonyan, Jaire, but tempted to say the game finally came to an end.
The bad: coaching, all units, all game.
The ugly: this season.

The Good: First Half defense

The Bad: The OL and the coaching staff.

The Ugly: Special Teams, blocked FG and blocked punt and the second half.

Packers were out coached and out played for the second consecutive week. Except for the first half defense the team didn't show any effort or emotion. The OL has crippled the offense. 7 points over the last 6 quarters, so much for the offensive genius at HC. The defense disappears in the second half for 2 consecutive weeks. Where are the adjustments? Where is the plan? The team looks lifeless.

Some one needs to step-up. First the HC and then some of the players need to take a leadership role. The last 2 weeks have been difficult to watch.
Thanks, Since '61

So many options:
The good: 1st half defense
The bad: 2nd half defense not adjusting to the Jets adjustments.
The ugly: Rodgers really does seem to have lost his accuracy short and long.
Uglier: Oline
Ugliest: Receivers unable to get free.
Extraplanetary ugly: Coaching

No argument from me. Regarding Rodgers and the Oline, how many problems are caused because Rodgers is holding on to the ball far too long? I know Love came in when the game was over, and I’m not suggesting he’s the answer, but he was lightning quick getting rid of the ball on his first two plays. Night and day compared to Rodgers. No problems with the Oline then. Rodgers has crafted a Hall of Fame career extending plays, but it appears neither he nor the Oline are up to that any longer.

The Good-Jaire Island. That’s it as far as I’m concerned.
The Bad-The offensive line was a total sieve. Newman is completely overmatched and the rest of the line lacked any push and heart.
The Ugly-The entire coaching staff. It’s not quite cleaning house time, however the sense of urgency and scheming doesn’t appear to be putting players in positions to succeed. They need to get a pulse on this team quickly. Gute also needs to reflect on what he’s done from a draft/develop/free agent acquisition perspective to get the right pieces in place.

Straight to The Bad:

The offensive line was atrocious and porous in being manhandled by stronger Jets defenders, allowing them to dart right through on occasion for sacks and TFLs. The Williamses had quite a day.

Run defense in the second half: Mike Lafleur sticks with run, and the Packer defense should have been prepared for it.

The Ugly: Sauce Gardner donning a Cheesehead hat and parading around the field after the game. Has the home field really eroded to this low point? Very, very sad....The Packers typically aren't an "angry" team (as we have seen), but if this doesn't wake them up for later home games, then nothing will.

I agree. Talent is an issue at WR and OL. DL has pass rushers and not run stuffers.

I also believe this is a coaching issue as far as adjustments and putting our players in the best options to succeed.

There are issues everywhere.

The good:
-I didn't get to watch the game
-Robert Tonyan looked good and this was the most productive day from a TE in 4 years
-Allen Lazard is a RedZone nightmare for most teams, too bad we can't get to the redzone on most occasions.
-Pat O'Donnell as usual played very well
-Rashan Gary rightfully should've had a sack in every game so far this season. (Thanks Douglas) But I'll take him playing over not, every day
-Jaire Alexander looked great today
-No timeouts burned senselessly in the first half
-Great 2 minute drive to end the first half
-Nice goal line stand at the end to give us a little bit of hope
-3rd down defense. Any time you hold your opponent to 1-11 on 3rd down, you should win the game.

Too bad about the bad and the ugly, there's a lot.

The bad:
-The rest of the special teams, only reason they're not ugly is because of how well they've played this year but today was inexcusable with TWO blocks.
-The defense's inability to cover end-arounds and trick plays
-3rd down offense, they can't seem to stay ahead of the chains and almost every 3rd and long (past 3 years as well) have ended in sacks.
-Overpursuit in the run defense. Too many times the wrong holes were flooded to let the backs fly through the openings. Patience will do the LB's wonders when the DL can't generate the push to stop.

The ugly:
-Royce Newman and Jake Hanson. I've said it for two years now, they're both absolutely garbage and I can only hope that the coaches FINALLY realize this. Newman is a turnstile and has no business protecting Rodgers. Get Tom or Rhyan out there, anybody would be an upgrade over those two. Maybe then teams will stop trying to triple team the rush. Defenses have figured out exactly where to rush and who to rush through the line to get home every time. If they can't figure out how to stop that from happening, they have some SERIOUS problems on their hands.
-The receivers, the offensive line, Rodgers, well the entire offense.
-The 6th game (every game so far) that has ended up with the Packers owning a negative turnover margin. Not once this entire season have they come out on top.
-Not one turnover caused by the defense.
-Losing the first regular season game at Lambeau since 2020 and being utterly embarrassed yet again with virtually a scoreless first half.
-Speaking of halves, there have been 12 "halves" of football played so far through 6 games. The Packers have been held to 3 points or less in 5 halves. That's 5 games where the Packers couldn't manage more than 3 points over a 30 minute period. I know the offense wasn't supposed to be good just yet, but are you kidding me?
-3-3 record after the easiest stretch of the schedule. If the Packers don't figure it out soon, this season is not going to end well for them.

Billy turner was a turnstile at RG too and was ironically a better tackle than guard. He and Jenkins would definitely have been a better RT/RG combo than Jenkins and Newman/Hanson, but that doesn't warrant the money Denver spent on him.

the ugly. clete blakemen and the zebras literally tried to give us the game. picked up flags, gave us 7 on that one drive basically. they took the punt team off the field only so we could go back out 3 downs later and punt anyway. its not a story line because the jets won the game anyway. power to them, and shame on us.

“Oh, that’s good?”
“No, that’s bad.”

Our team is 3 - 3 with 11 games left to play meaning we could see this on rinse and repeat past Christmas.
Then again, things could turn around . . . But it just doesn’t seem likely this year.

Maybe worth pointing out our former Coach who we insisted get canned, (well most of us anyways) has the Cowboys at 4 - 1 with a backup QB in a conference must more competitive than our own?

Seems unlikely but the chants have started to rid of us of LaFleur who owns a higher win % than that of Brady and Belichick. I get it, something indeed needs to change before I cut our tree down the day after Thanksgiving, make sure we get it correct this time.

McCarthy has the best front four in football, two explosive running backs, two qbs who both can play, great defensive backs and a owner who we pends money on TOP free agents to fill a needed hole or two. He should be doing well
He couldn't coach this team either no talent to see hear

I have some thoughts…usually LaFluer is a creative play caller. Misdirection, running, reverses etc.
How do we go from creative plays with TEs , FBs Dillion and jones to deep hero ball?
So all off season the didn’t practice get the ball out quick routes?

I think he has lost control of Rodgers. Rodgers wanted a washed up injury prone Cobb back, they are running the ball less, the running plays look like McCarthys ..out of a shotgun. Everyone knows where Rodgers is going with the ball. I think the change needs to be with Rodgers…as much as it pains me to say it. He’s holding the team back. Lafluer can’t control him. And he’s missing throws, missing open wrs. Can’t scramble . And thumb against a non division team…he shouldn’t have played. Today Jones had his guy beat by 3 yrds..and the ball was thrown out of bounds with a spectacular catch by jones. High balls, low balls . If your OL is overmatched…use an extra TE or FB. Crap coaching and qb play . But deep down, I think the hallucinating tea drinking qb has too much say in players and the playbook. Because the couple of years the play calls have been creative…and now, it looks just like the same shit we had seen with McCarthy. So…all of that tells me it’s AR who is the issue.

The Good: My sister was at the game. She says the Badger band was entertaining

The Bad: The O-Line and o-line coaching. Time to hand the keys back to our O-Coordinator "in name only", Butkus is not getting it done. What will it take to get more quality on the field. Nijman at RT, and Tom at RG. Jenkins back at LG or Center (Myers was bad today). Hanson and Newman have proven themselves not ready to play, now if not ever. They a liability to AR's health.

The Ugly: It all comes down to the Head Cheerleader. In today's after game presser he had no idea what is wrong, but it must be fixed? He just can't adapt during a game. He has no feel for what plays are needed as the opponents D adjusts. I still feel he was a clipboard O-Coord. He never really had play calling responsibilities for his offensive-minded HCs. This has been highlighted in the playoffs and now an injured/struggling AR. We need receiver help and he continues to substitute Amari and Winfree on the field. Speed is what we need to stretch the field and open the passing lanes. For gosh sakes give Toure an opportunity. Neither Amari/Winfree can get vertical. My fear, MLF has already lost this team.

We keep pointing to 73 at RT as a possible fix for the OL, but why not Bakhtiari? If they're worried that 73 can't handle that transition, then maybe 69 can do it.

WRs--could it be that it was 17 that propped up 12 rather than the opposite? Neither looks nearly so good without the other.

17 and 12 were mutually advantageous. A top QB and a top receiver. It’s a good combination. I think we forget the supporting cast: MVS drew coverage. We missed his speed in the last Championship, or more accurately we missed the requirement for Ds to account for it. We’ve never created a credible replacement.

I expected us to groom the rookies to fill roles and, while limited, to compliment the likes of Cobb and Lazard and also each other with skill and ability driven limited route trees that could make them useful this year. We did nothing of the sort. We didn’t have Rodgers focusing on building a rapport with them either. They seem to have been seen as an afterthought for next year, even after Doubs started turning heads and then Toure. It’s pretty clear the plan was Watkins, Cobb and Lazard plus Tonyan and running more. In fact that last part hadn’t been consistently realized.

Going into this season with that plan and thus roster is just ridiculous. It could only be otherwise if one is so full of our own hype as to be blind. Yet we did. 6 games in we still are. Yes, heads should roll and must. The organization is just unforgivably divorced from reality.

Bakh at RT would mean we weaken our run blocking in both sides. Even if he were otherwise a good fit there, I’d rather take the lumps getting Nijman up to speed and maintain one side where the run blocking is at least adequate.

People are harder on the defense than they should. The Jets converted 1/13 third downs. Double digit passing yards, forced 6 punts, had to start 4 drives with awful field position, held the Jets to 3 points on the first 8 drives. If the offense could give them a little time to breathe... And let's be honest, if we were out there on the defense holding our part of the bargain and the offense is not helping at all, why bother playing hard?..

Also, linebackers and secondary keep struggling with the scheme sometimes (even the more experienced players). The talent is there, they need to be better coached.

On the other hand, the offense is a disaster regarding personnel. I will risk getting a lot of dislikes here by saying goodbye to Runyan and Newman ( this game was awful and the Jets DL are good but they have been playing badly since week 1). The OL are not giving time enough for Rodgers to even look to his second option sometimes, no wonder why he takes an occasional shot down the field.

About the WRs. They are young, it is not a good idea to put your game on the line for them while they are learning, but Rodgers has to. They do it every single game because half of the third downs they have are third and long.
They need a better running game to help, and it hasn't clicked yet because of the interior OL. Hear me out LaFleur, at least do an experiment with Bak - Zach Tom - Myers - Jenkins - Nijman. It can't be any worse than this. Rodgers stop playing hero ball can help too.

I will not even get into ST. They are still way below average, but strangely, somehow I am grateful after the horror movie of last year.

Not that it matters but the Packers had 31+ minutes TOP. So the idea that the defense needed time to breath is a bit off base. The Packers also had 15 first downs versus 14 for the Jets.

The defense played well in the first half but when we needed a stop after the Packers closed the score to 17-10 the defense allowed the Jet to blow through them for an easy TD and a 24-10 lead. At that point the defense needs to get a 3 and out or a turnover. They had a breather during the Packers 75 yard TD drive.

Thank you since. I always enjoy your comments.

You're right about total time of possession. Actually, what I tried to point out is the resting between drives. I felt that except the TD they didn't rest longer than 3 minutes, it is tough to keep grinding in these conditions. It always seems that the defense breakdowns comes after constant failures by the offense.

I am not saying our defense is flawless. I just tried to point out that if we want to be harsh on the defense we need to be twice as harsh with the offense.

Regardless if the Packers or Jets were better, it is unexcusable for both teams to have an offense like that.

IMO, for the Packers offense to improve, it starts with the OL. For defense it starts with better coaching and better resting.

Thank you.

The good: only 11 games left
The bad: 11 games left
The ugly: 11 games left
The reality: nothing will change in the off-season either. They need a staff that builds a tough gritty team that doesn’t fold after a penalty or fumble. This staff can’t do that. When it comes time to fold, LaFluer is first in line. Barry maxed out as a linebacker coach, and Bisaccia deserves better.
It starts in the front office. Gutekunst is not adequate. He put all 50 million eggs in Aaron’s basket… now it looks like tough sledding next year too. I wouldn’t trust Gutekunst to run another draft. If Murphy doesn’t have it in him, then the executive board needs to step up.

Hey Friend... The first part of your comment is dead on, but the $50 million eggs in Rodgers basket was all Murphy. This demise of the Green Bay Packers started in January of 2018, it just took a minute. If you recall, in 2018 when Gutekunst was hired, Mark Murphy made some changes to the way the front office would be run.

When Bob Harlon hired Ron Wolf he got the HELL OUT OF THE WAY. It was that way until Murphy made the changes he did in 2018 and IMO has started the slide the Packers are currently in.

https://www.packersnews.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/2018/01/08/packers-...

Rodgers was still good enough to cover up the lack of talent, coaching, and stupid decisions by the front office. Now, Rodgers can't do it. Father time is 10000000 -1 with Tom Brady being the lone exception and now it's pretty clear it's caught up to Rodgers. That dude LOOKS OLD.

The BOD needs to get rid of Murphy. This is going to get worse before it gets better. They mortgaged the future and the bottom fell out. Start looking to 2024 and then hire some coaches and a coaching staff.

Gute built this roster for Love or at least not Rodgers. Then we had a last dance, then another, loading our cap. This year that started to force us to shed. Then we brought Rodgers back. GMs have to plan for 2-3 years ahead and with Rodgers cap hit that has consequences. Someone decided to change course but their turn ignored the fact that the course was locked in on the roster, contract and cap dynamics. That decision is looking increasingly unsound and was probably rushed. We needed to retain Adams earlier and extend MVS at least if we were contemplating such a move. I don’t think Ball would have left those hanging if that was his directive.

The Good: When the Packers actually run the ball, it usually works.

The Bad: Dropped passes. No one wants to hear about Davante Adams any more, but he actually went up, over, and through to catch a ball. It's an acquired skill, yet no one has really excelled at working to develop that skill.

The Ugly: Special Teams and the Offense "shared" blocking. Not working. Blockers "passing off" their block to a non-existent second blocker. It happened both times on the Special Teams blocked kicks, and several times on Jets pass rushes that ultimately ended up as QB sacks.

The good: At 3-3, despite playing like crap and being horrifically below expectations, we are still solidly in the playoff hunt (along with other disappointing 3-3 teams like Tampa Bay and San Francisco). There are 11 freaking games to go!!! I haven't thrown in the towel yet. I still believe there is talent on this roster that can be better utilized. The Packers historically play better in November and December. There is a part of me that weirdly does NOT want the Packers to be a top seed again, and have our high expectations crushed! I'd rather have us sneak into the playoffs as a lower seed and get hot like we did in 2010. Yeah, I know this perspective seems odd after a deflating defeat like the Jets game.

The bad: except for a few splash plays here and there, pretty much everything we saw from the Packers today and most of the 2022 season. It's so ugly, I'm thankful we are even 3-3.

The ugly: all the know-it-alls who are ready to give up on LaFleur, Rodgers, Gutekunst, the entire Packer brass, and the team itself. Yeah, everyone associated with the Packers is utterly clueless, and you watch a few games and know more than they do. Maybe we should let the welders, carpenters, waste management folks, and a few preferred customers run a major corporation. After all, the people paid the big bucks are total idiots, right? Special mention to Rodgers' ridiculous haircut for the ugly.

Who needs an 50year old flatearther who is afraid of planes, health care and receivers he does not like (trust). Let alone such an expensive one who may have the worst body language in the world. He may be on Ivermectin as well, with his crazy crackhead friends like Rogan and Portnoy.
He is the worst rolemodel for kids you can find. You cant go to the stadium if keeps playing here.

He never takes any responsibility, just throws anyone else under the bus and that goes on since 10 years at least.

Witch halfway smart human being thinks he is smarter than all the others?

Id rather lose some games than win with a coward like grand pa (sorry grand pas). Just a shame for Green Bay........

Hey somebody turn the page of the playbook....these plays are worn out and everybody knows them, stop doing the same things that aren't working, bring back the fullback position!!

Saw a somber press conf with Rodges sitting there saying the team must become more simplistic. I almost swallowed my tongue. We have three offensive plays, pass short, pass to the side and run the freekin ball.
Theres no end arounds, runners lining up at receiver position. You cant get this offense more bland. Simpler?
OI think Rodgers has lost his fn mind. and man does he look old and tired out there. If this isnt his last year were in trouble.
I saw Mays, Ali, Tittle and many a great athlete think they can beat father time and all failed. Its sad. Brady looks like hell to. Terribly way to go out

The Good: NOTHING. Rating a defense by arbitrary time like the 1st Half is a waste. The game is 4 quarters and this team hasn’t played a full game yet and it’s almost Week 7.

The Bad: This team is “soft”. The Jets played physical and Packers laid down. Poor tackling, non existent blocking. Coaching? Where were the adjustments?

The Ugly: The schedule. Sure, sure we have the Commanders this week. We’ll struggle with them. Soon it will be Buffalo, Philly, etc. Good luck with that.

This game came down to the trenches and getting our butts whooped.

O-line
Bak- Is a shell of himself right now. I don't think he will ever be the same. (Time to move on)
Runyan- He has been pretty good until this game; however, he was destroyed most of the day.
Meyer- He is just an average center. We really miss Linsley.
Newman- Honestly, he could be cut. He is that bad.
Jenkins- He is not a tackle. He is also not all the way back yet. He needs to be moved to guard.

Personally, I think we need a better center, draft a good RG, move Jenkins back to LG, and at least for now put Yosh at RT. This line is what it is.

D-line
Smith- He is an ok pass rusher but he is not great against the run. Starting to slow down.
Clark- He has played well this season but can be inconsistent at times. Of course, when you are double teamed a lot, I guess that happens.
Reed- He can rush the passer but I do not see him as a run stopper at this point and he is older as well.
Slaton- He is a big body and had a good game against the Giants but again is inconsistent every game.
Lowrey- We could get rid of him and not miss him. He is just a guy.
Gary- Best defensive player on the team. He had a sack and multiple plays for a loss with the bad toe. If he goes down, we are in trouble.

The theme here on the d-line is most are just guys. They will make a play here and there but then get washed completely out of plays.

I do not see this changing the rest of the year. We have average to below average lines and we have below average WR's. The offense will continue to struggle and the d-line will continue to have issues topping the run. I like ML but he cannot seem to adjust on offense and Barry cannot seem to adjust on defense to what teams are doing to them.

Sorry but I just do not have gold- colored glasses right now. This team is just not very good.

Enjoy Gary he will not re sign with this team. LIke Perry who he reminded me of before the draft, he will go elsewhere thus he is trying to play lights out this year for the money. This is his last season with the pack. No one stays thats talented. Jarre was stupid to sign a big contract he must be kicking himself now.

I also hope Jones goes elsewhere, he has a coach who is clueless in MLF and refuses to find a way to get him more involved in the game...

It felt like that old movie I saw many years ago and I'm not sure of the name of it, but I think it was "Back To The Future" or something similar, but they went back in time to the old west. The performance the Packers put on the last couple of weeks just reminded me of the struggles all of us old timers experienced back in the 1970's and 1980's. I hope this is just an aberration and we get back to what we have gotten used to during the past 30 years.
