I can only blame part of it on him. He can only coach the talent he has. If in his opinion, the guys he has to work with are so so, then he has to design a defense to fit them.

One can say he did a dam good job stopping the frisco spread and run and others can say, what spread and run, they came out passing and passed till their arms fell off.

All I know is since all of last year, the pre-season and the first game this year, the defense has been unable to get off the field against any team. The excuses of so and so is hurt or we would do better is old now.

This team will show its true colors this year and TT will pay a high price for overlooking free agent help that was out there.

Watch it, blaming Thompson for anything is an act of contempt & blasphemy for many fans. ... I happen to agree with you. All one has to do is look at the last 3 drafts... Not good (so far).

By the end of the year Thompson will realize what "hot seat" means.

I don't blame Dom. Compared to last year's playoff game his defense did a damn good job shutting down the run. Damn good. Yes, he challenged Keeblerdick to beat him thru the air which he did but I am one that feels Burnett and Hayward were huge losses and it hurt them.

To me the offense was more the problem with the Lacy fumble, the Finley drop for int, the Sitton holds and Shawn Slocum's inability to coach special teams. Throw in a absolute boneheaded decision by McCarthy to give SF another down on 3rd and 6 instead of 4th and one. WTF was he thinking?

Despite all these problems, I am happy as hell with this team. Once they get going they are going to be the top team in the NFL this season. I have no doubt. Lacy will be the biggest reason as he settles into this position. I would be absolutely shocked if he doesn't get 100 plus this game.

Thank you Brian for courageously refusing to use the word #edskins. As a person of Norwegian heritage I am hopeful you might spearhead the effort to stop using the word #ikings when referring to our rivals in MN.
